Title: radio panel/buffer
Post by: dhaus on June 24, 2005, 07:01:45 AM
Can I hide the radio panel after I pull it up to set the channels?  How do I do that? I takes up some instrument panel space, or, worse, view space.  Thanks.

Can't hide it but you can make the background transparent. Open clipboard>VIDEO>GUI. Move the 1st slider bar (message text window) all the way down. Once done, you can also drag the window around on your screen using the mouse cursor.

You can minimize the radio bar in flight but not the text area where others respond. Right click on the line you write text in and with nothing writen hit enter. It will go away. You can hit / to bring it back up and enter to hide it again. I use this to ID frendly dots as they show up in the F12(range channel) list well before icon range. The text buffer can be reduced or maxed with the ` key below esc. You can also right click hold and drag it if you prefer it at the top.

Thanks.  Picking up the headset today and will be upping tonight or tomorrow, depending on wife ack.  Was addicted to AW for a few years then took a few years off.  Still played off line.  Been working on AH offline so I don't ask complex questions like how do I start my engine, get my gear up, etc. etc. in the middle of the online game.  I grew up reading books like Wing Leader by Johnny Johnson, Thunderbolt, Martin Caiden's P-38, Bader's biography by Brickhill, etc. etc.  This stuff is better than crack - can't wait to get shot down in my P-38.
