Title: Aces High - UK
Post by: Smiggyy on June 26, 2005, 01:47:16 PM
Never seen any promotion for this game in the UK at all.

I only happened across this game by searching for a "free" flight sim to play in desperation on http://www.download.com.

That was 3 years ago now!

There is a "huge" potential subscription base here in UK, we're aircraft mad, summat to do with being a small island I guess. Everyone here secretly thinks he's a closet Douglas Bader!! We're brought up with the Battle of Britain at school, and to actually get as close as AH allows they're there for the taking!

We have a UKTV History channel, etc etc over here, how about running some ads here, make the UK more aware of your existence, could pay dividends?!

ww2 stuff is so popular over here, its like, well, i dunno, stuff... :)

big market over here. maybe you guys should design a little leaflet and send em over here. im sure the museums would generate loads of interested players

Morph you !

We are not in the same timezone, so... this would mean we could have a Yuro peak time with more than 80 players!

If it makes you feel better I have never seen an ad for this sim/game  and I live in the USA. Stumbled upon it in a news group.
Never seen an advert on TV, paper or computer.
Peace

OK boring none take the piss outta Morphey text follows.

A maccyD costs 2.99 in the UK and near enough the same in the USA.  telly adds may cost $3,000 to $3 mill so translate that to pound sterling. Todays rate is $1 = 1.82 Sterling.

58 million people in the UK as oppesed 259 milliom in the USA.  If I was a business man I'de be more concerned with plugging in the "Home base" before working abroard.

However, your to darn true.  Us Brits love this stuff.  HTC through caution to the wind.  Promo over here:aok

Finest hour and all that.  Don't ya know:rofl

TV advert many times on the Wings (Now Military) Channel.  We need to see more of it and the new promo.  The Discovery and History Channels are also great venues for the promos.

I lived in the UK for 5 years and I think advertising over there is an excellant idea. The air fetes in the UK are always popular and it's just a matter of getting the word out

:aok

What surprises me is that the UK AH community is a pretty disparate lot these days............

There used to be a large proportion of the brits playing as bish, they're all split up into the 3 countries over time.  However AH seems a lot friendlier during the day if a lot of UK-ers are online.  Theres a lot of friendly banter over ch200 and 2, though it could just be due the numbers being less than 100.  Things always lighten up if joc comes online.

If you'd typed "desperate" instead of "disparate", that would have made a pretty good Freudian Slip. ;)
