This ever happened to anyone else before?
Rolled out VH, about 30 feet, still on concrete, in panzy, sirens suddenly off, local channel reports bogey down, all clear.
Types /.ef to tower out, get a "ditch" message.
Eh?
Smiggy.

Had it happen in TT on Trinity map last night. I was in a T34 on pavement next to VH. Got ditched msg.
Glad I wasn't in a tiger, cuz only way "they" will believe us is to send film in.

Happens all the time:mad:
Drives me crazy, because I'm apparently not on the little patch of concrete just right, I get a ditch.
I would recomn'd making a "safe" zone within "X" amount of yards or feet from any friendly facility, as long as you're in said zone you can land sucessfully.
My 2 cents

slightly different subject:
spawns should have some sort of a marker

Lost a few Tigers to this. Get a ditch while everyone else around you lands ok. Good times:aok

its a feature designed to entertain you, the lottery of getting a successful landing.... ooooh the suspense!! it is a bit like the lottery of puffy ack hitting you - :D
It happened to me yesterday while i was in ostwind, mildly frustrating ;)

It "shouldn't" be a roll of the dice weather or not you land sucessfully {IMO}
If you drive back to base or your at the base already and you park on the concrete you should get a sucessful landing.
Not a ditch or "you've been shot down by xx"
At the spwans it is difficult to find the exact locale for the "safe landing" zone. It is once again a roll of the dice, one of the reasons I belive people just ditch thier rides and re-up.
Maybe there could be a little highlighted area on the map around a spawn point, then you know where you have to go in order to get a safe landing.
my 2 cents

Yes, the spawn camper life is too difficult. Throw them dogs a bone!

The reason we ask for films, in events like this, is so we can see what caused it and fix it, or at least accurately explain it.
I have not been able to reproduce this. Without reproduction, nothing can get fixed. It could be a terrain bug. Point being, we can guess all day long, but never actually guess the reason some things happen.
Films contain information which help to debug and see what conditions lead up to something acting in a manner it is not supposed to.

Thing is, at least for me. I usually dont have my cam turned on otherwise I''d just end up with a folder filled with films I'll never view and have no use for. Not to mention again speaking for myself unless I exit game right away I'll never remember which film it was on what I wanted to save.
That is why I've been asking for the option to save and name/rename the most recent film upon entry into the tower.
Almost like AW had it.
Then I'd probably have on film the 6 kills I lost due to ditch even though I ended mission on pavement at a VB the other night.
Though I was in a 109 at the time so I aint really complaining :)
