Finally saw Star Wars III.
Man the emperor carried that movie. I hated it..with all its Pulp Fiction light saber swinging Jedi, and Tarzan of the Wookie sound effects...until the emperor made his move. Then I loved the movie. Especially how they made the blend into Star Wars IV style ships..the molded plastic bulkheads...cockpits, even the wipes between scenes that all said 1977.
My favorite is still Episode IV, followed by the Hoth scens in Empire Strikes Back. But now Episode III has jumped in front of Return of the Jedi for me...sliding ROTJ into 4th place. The remaining movies..although needed...I didnt care for.

Still the main thing I walked away with from this movie..was that nostalgic feeling of evil/glory/glee I felt when the Emperor started his stuff 1/2 way thru. His voice..his performance made the movie. Without him (Ian)..or the character he played..the movie would have been lost.

great movie, though i liked episode 2 more.
why?
first time seeing yoda kick some serious ass!!!!
the whole dark side of the "clone" / storm trooper revealed.
boba / jenga fett
death star plans revealed
lots to think about and see where it all came from. intellictually, it was the best movie.
watching empire (episode 5) afterwards, the effects / acting / everything is SOOOO 70/ 80's and doesn't live up, even the "drama" of "luke im your father" seems contrived, and VERY poorly acted. luke: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOO
it was lame.
though a great movie, the new ones set a new par for visuals and cinematagrophy. the "old" doesn't hold up sadly. after growing up on it thinking "whoa!"
then seeing jurassic park, then matrix, now it looks like crap. sorry.

I just saw the original King Kong a few weeks ago, and yeah it was hokey, but it was still fun to watch and still too a good movie for MST3000.

Original Kong is a great movie. Special effects were astounding for the time and still not entirely terrible (Love when Kong Fights the Allasourus)
As for the acting remember it was made back in 1933. Accurately reflects the time period too as to how people were. Talk to some old pople who were around then and alot of times you will notice the dialog isnt all that different.
I cant wait for the new remake to come out. Now slated for 12/14/05.
Supposed to be more loyal to the original.
Also thats when I'll be able to get the original Kong on DVD

I consider myself a star wars fan, but im so slow.. i havent seen number 3 yet :eek:
Gonna wait just a little bit longer until the theater is almost empty so i can enjoy it alone. Hardest part is avoiding reading comments and spoilers.
Think i better go this week.

Havent seen 3 yet. Is it worth the $6 ticket and then the $15 on a drink and small popcorn or should i wait for the DVD? btw is that MP5 fullauto cuz hes blasting away everyone lol:lol

I recommend seeing it in the theatre...but bring a bottle of .99 water and a snack. That 3.50 bottle of water they sell may taste better, but its just too much :P
