Lotta speculation on what is gonna be said tonight.
I have heard everything from an apology(lol) to troop drawdowns. What kind of media do we have these days when the President doesnt automatically get tv time? I remember last time they just cut him off at the technology part of his speech.
"Three of the four broadcast networks had yet to decide late Monday whether they would carry President Bush's speech on Iraq Tuesday in front of soldiers in Fort Bragg, N.C. By then, only ABC had said it would carry the address."
8 pm Est....

Media is probably reacting to the staging of the event, not that these things aren't typically just PR opportunities regardless of the setting. Another "Mission Accomplished" dog & pony show though, with a background of grunts instead of the carrier landing and flightsuit.

You trying to be cute Sandy? :D
-
How much effort would that take and how tired would he be afterwards? Far more interesting than whatever Bush has to say (and more honest as well). :D
-
LOL! :lol
-
A little bit of alcohol and a funny hat, and I'm set. :)
-
i figured out a great drinking game. every time the prez says "freedom", or "liberty" you drink a shot. if you play with hard liqure you can only play for 10 min lest you succom to alcohol poisoning.
PS
i find it insulting when polititians mislead the public. people who do that are abusing public office. i say line em up against the wall and cause them accute lead poisoning.:aok

We did something similar for the debates. We survived maybe 30 minutes of it before the first person threw up and we called it a night. Hearing the words "I have a plan" makes me sick to my stomach now. Political drinking games are a fast track to kidney failure.

Show a lil respect.
Lets not hang the President before the speach.
-
I hope its broadcast in HDTV (the "L33T" stations use 720P format for live broadcast, Fox has the worse with only 480P)
I'm not a big fan of Boosh but i'll be interested to watch him on HDTV.

i garuntee 2 tyhings will happen, the republicans will again hail this speech as the mighty roar of the second coming, and the democrats will call bush a meanie and demand he leave.

Lets string him up afterwards.
I am showing a little respect. As little as I can, until he gives me a reason to increase it (like when he moves out of the building he currently calls home, due to the city wanting to build public restrooms as they would improve the value of the city).

LOL.. now, tell us how you really feel.
I'm sure the Daily Show will have some REALLY good stuff on tomorrow night.. that have a field day every time the munkie.. err.. President has something to say.

Why would the networks feel obligated to air his speech, when they could air something more worthwhile and less scripted, like a re-run of Law & Order.
-
Or BobSpongeSquarePants (???) Thank goodness the PVR at home is loaded with good stuff for tonight.

WHOOOOOOOOO....
....Lives in a pineapple under the sea?
SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!

SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!

Yep, that is indeed more poignant and worthwhile than anything Bush might have to say.
-
People with a genuine and honest understanding of the world situation dont need this political speech tonight. This speech tonight is a cheerleading excercise to try and bring the doubters and weak sisters back up to speed.
The upside to this speech tonight is its location and audience. It is fitting for this President to again address these soldiers at war.

" Thanks for all your help in Iraq Mr Blair but you can bring your boys back home"
Now that would be nice. For my mates brother anyhow!
-
My favorite was when Bush said "After September 11, 2001, I told the American people that the road ahead would be difficult..."
He then kinda paused, made some kind of shruggin' gesture with his shoulders, and raised his eyebrows as if to say... "Nailed it!"
