I've swam in the river at Kanchanaburi; in the river Kwai which is an upper tributary of the Mekong; and whilst the lokals assured me they didn't get that big there (they had lots of little ones in the local markets); I have to admit to a vicarious thrill every time I felt a cold current between me legs :)

Which was immediately followed by very warm currents. :)

It was caught in a net.

Also, apparently it isn't a predator. It's a bottom feeder and eats its vegetables! (I find that kinda hard to believe).

I think I would be hard pressed to take a swim in the Mekong:eek:

World's largest freshwater fish.. NOT.

The largest freshwater fish is a dinosaur that can grow up to 20 feet in length and weigh 1500 lbs. Some people think it's eggs taste good.

Damn the news is wrong a lot these days.

LOL, how would you like to be out on your pontoon boat with your little electric trolling motor and snag into a 1500lb armored fish with your zebco!

I wonder how many times thats happened  and dude just shrugged it off as probably snagged a log or something.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Give a man fish from the Mekong river and you feed him for a lifetime!
