I was wondering about this. If an enemy is on a bombers six, should I try to help the bomber, or will it maybe get the bomber a kill shooter?
-
Even if you just spray a few rounds in the targets general direction it will distract him and help the Buff pilot.
But its also a good opportunity for an easy kill they are usually so focused on the buff that they will never see you coming

I was wondering if I make it harder for the bomber gunner. With me behind him by the enemy, doe he have to be careful not to hit me?
It came up a few days ago. I was shooting the enemy from behind and the buff was shooting him from in front (poor guy). Afterward I wondered if the buff had hit me could he get kill shooter.
-
I am pretty sure that he would get a kill shooter if he hit you. but personally (and I fly buffs a lot) I always like some help when I am being shot at.

The bomber can get a killshooter. So can you if you fire towards the bomber.
-
Its amazing that neither of us got one with all the lead that was flying. I could only imagine what the La7 pilot was thinking, "this is not good.." :D

Uhh, guys...they seem to have disabled killshooter in bombers for the reason of bombing GVs. I've had a squadmate load me up with all of the B17's tail/ball rounds and not even take a dent.

KS with guns is different than KS if you bomb a friendly. In fact, and I can't find the exact 'readme' release this was in, but I believe you can bomb near a friendly and not KS your self. Friendly bombs will not KS a bomber or damage a boombee.
EDIT- Found it, way back in Nov 2004 with release 2.01. It says:
"Killshooter is no longer triggered from bombs or rockets."

To answer his original question.
No, the gunner will not k/s himself on your plane if he is shooting at a plane in line with you.
