How would I go about adding a HIT counter to my website?  Do I need any special software for that?  Much thanks!!

Plenty of free ones available.  On my http://hallert.net/misc/begin/begin.html page, I use one from hostingtoolbox.com that seems to work good.

Just make an image that refers to http://hostingtoolbox.com/bin/Count.cgi?df=someuniqueidentifier and it'll do the rest for you.

if you are building it in frontpage there is a built in one also.
