Title: Do custom skins show up..

..for the other online players to see? Or are they only for one's own enjoyment?

You cant creat a skin and just put it on your computer and use it.

Skins are submitted to HTC and if approved added to the game.

That means if you select a skin in game then everyone will see it.

Though it requires that the other person has it downloaded. SKins are either downloaded though the download site or automatically in game. Its recommended that if you are a new player you do download the 80MB+ skin pack to save you the time it takes to dl it ingame.
