Anyone planning on seeing this? (http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/fantastic_four/  ) The comic was always one of my favorites when I was a kid.

Ahem... Hollywood isn't interested in creativity. They want profit.

Jaws, Jurassic Park, Gone With The Wind, 2001 A Space Odyssey, The Wizard of Oz, Hamlet, The Godfather...

Comic books, Homer's Odyssey or Shakespeare, movie adaptations can be good... or they can suck.

How many movies were adapted from other works that turned out to be pretty good movies and even showed some creativity in the adaptation?

I think the last time I spent any of my hard earned cash at a theater was when I went to see the last in the "Lethal Weapon" series.  I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. I'll catch them on DishNetwork or buy a DVD. I can pay my dish bill for a month for what it costs to see two movies, counting popcorn and beverage. I get a couple of free pay per view movies thrown in as well.

I too grow weary of the poorly made "blockbusters" we see today. These days 99% of the remakes suck because the reason they do remakes is they don't want to spend money on being accurate or original. The adaptations just ain't much better.

If the previews are any indication, this will suck.

I was never emoghey, though, so I didnt read comic books with the word "Fantastic" in them.

Sounds like a Brit comic book.
