I'm currently on my second X45, having replaced one thru the Best Buy $10 extended waranty. I love the stick, but it only lasted 8 months before the view hat got goofy. I expect probably one more free replacement before the 2 year term is up -- and then I have to make a decision.
I've read nothing but good about the CH flightstick, but I have a question -- are the non-view hats assignable to keyboard commands and/or macros, or do they work like axis assignments that have to be supported by the game itself?

AH is very CH friendly. I've programmed all switches and hats on throttle and js directly - eliminating the need for the CH software.
You can assign multiple key commands using the CH software if you choose.
