am I the only one thinking: boat ,lots of women, nude sunbathing=hot lesbian action?
-
Well, I am actually jealous. I'm drinking fine beer, but am not within half an hour of sailable waters. I have to take classes and not go sailing all summer long.
But know this, my crew can take your crew any day Nilsen. We'll even give you a sailor's head start. Every member of my crew will down 5 beers before the start.

Enjoy Rip.. afew days without the comforts of home is great for the spirit! harder to come by these days unless you do what you do and head into the wilderness.
Hopefully we will be able to afford that big sailboat before we are too old and we can do the same.
Enjoy Rip and take many nice pics :)

Top of the morning to ya RPM. heading over the pass to Eastern. New garage is wired to the house alarm, so you have about 5 min. to raid it before the Pierce county sheriff (and my neighbor whos armed) show up. :) The sheriff is pending on time however, depends if the Krispy Kreme "red-light-donuts-are-hot" is on or not....
-
I doubt you and your butt is going anywere in a hurry rpm :D
how is it btw? (no details please)
-
LOL... I'm still posting standing or kneeling on a pillow. The fun begins later when I have to change the dressing.

(Most) Dinghy's are not actually faster. They just appear to be faster.
I.E. In a Small boat, if you're going 10, it feels like you're doing 40.
In a big boat, if you're doing 30, it feels like your going 15.
-
The boat we use are sertainly slower than any laser, unless its blows too much for the little thing. You are otherwise correct
-
Don't underestimate your boat (unless you really are sailing a POS). Many times I've taken a Catlina 27 and easily spanked great sailors in Lightnings.
-
well if you race by penalty system then yes. otherwise this boat wont beat a fast dingy unless as i said its blowing to hard for the dingy
-
I'll have to find some old pictures of the boat my old man built as I was growing up. Some of my earliest memories are of the hull sitting in the front yard, me standing on one side and looking through to the other side. It was an old navy rescue boat, a whaler hull.
He spent the next thirteen years rebuilding it by hand. The keel was hand poured farrow cement. The mast was made from a pine tree that was delivered to our house and deposited in the back yard. He spent weeks after work shaping it with a hand plane. The ribs were steam bent in our garage.
The result was an absolutely beautiful gaff rig boat that drew about 4', and garnered the attention of everyone in the harbour when we sailed it. It had an inboard Buhdda diesel engine, circia 1947. Sometimes it took 2 hours to get it cranked up, but it always came through when we needed it too. There was a 47' yacht that was well known in Charleston harbour. It got stuck on a newly formed sandbar close the the entrance to the harbour. Halo, 26' long, and her 50+ year old diesel pulled her off and towed her back to her berth. Everything, even the cleats, was hand made by my old man. Wire splices, sail tailering, hand plugged cotton between the hull planks.
Hurrican Hugo sent something to cut both bow anchor lines, and Halo was beaten under a barge. The mast was ripped out of the deck. That was the only time I saw my old man cry.
Dennis got me thinking. to you guys down there.
