This is a system I'm thinking of getting. Opinions on these specs for AH?

Looks great, except for the built-in video.
Try AH, and if you think the video is too slow, buy whatever card is around $175 to $200 that week.

Be sure it has anAGP or PCI-Express slot (not pci). Cuae if it dont...it'll be a dog. You need to plop a $200 graphics card in that bad boy.
also consider>>>
You can add any monitor you want, and it does have an AGP slot. You will generally get more bang for your $$$ with an Athlon.

It's hard to tell what kind of board your going to get on an HP unless you can get a look at the board before you purchase it...Just had a Compaq with onboard video running 3 ghz P4 with only pci slots...The poor guy really wanted to upgrade his video but his options sure are limited.
-
it's probably got pci-e....put a x700pro in my sisters hp...it only cost $240 and runs with my system now no problem
-
"probably" isn't good enough with pre-built computers. Make sure it has an agp or pci-e slot open or it will be worthless for games. The intel integrated graphics is totally useless for games.
-
Two things I don't like about it are...
533 mhz frontside bus.
PC2700 DDR ram
I have a 3.01 Intel with 800 FSB and PC3200 ram with an ATI 9700 Pro vid card, and I have to conserve frame rates.

i agree....just that most new HP's have pci-e available, they are just built too cheap to come with a good card

these day i find myself telling everyone who's considering to buy a prebuilt machine to build yourself, its fun and preety easy. and youll probebly save yourself some cash.
