Gentlemen,
Is it better to have a low ping number VS high ping number?
Two weeks ago I was getting ping #'s in the high 80's and now I'm pinging at 31 and connect when then. I have no idea why the #'s changed to a lower ping number but they did.
Just curious about this. I'm not computer savvy at all so thats why I'm asking.
Thanks

The higher the ping, the longer a packet of data is taking to go round-trip.

Right the lower the number tha faster the trip to HTC and back. The reason you may have seen a change is Skuzzy mentioned switching the servers to a new system to try and get away from Savvis backbone. Looks like you may have gotten a little help with your connection to HTC :)

My conn to HTC has gone to watermelon last 2-3 weeks (well, admittedly, was only 200 ms or so to start with--dialup only here) --now, even TANKS warp...I dont even bother to fly airplanes anymore, too dang frustrating--net stat looks like OJ Simpson talking to LA police...vox barely even works--have tried all the other numbers, no avail---updated, ran Ad-Aware, wiped out pesky spyware---my Windows firewall is OFF, I turn off PC_Cillin when I start game, kill heap many other processes, no avail..I doubt that it is HTC, but cant do squat about it (BTW, am I sposed to be able to tracert 216.91.187.39 over dialup? cant find ANYthing--times out)
