I converted a file from AC3D and it shows up fine in the OE. Whenever I build it and move it to the map I want to use it in it shows up on the object list but when I try to place it, it does not show up.
If I build the terrain when I load it in AH it says "Missing shape rwyg0l"

put the shape file and the texture in the texsrc folder?
-
did you copy all necessary files to texsrc after buikding the object in OE?
That is:
- your converted *.obj
- the built *.obj file
- the *.htx texture file
-
where are you getting the .obj and .htx file from?
I just put the texture and the .shp file in texsrc folder
-
Lol.. sorry :) Not *.obj, but *.shp ... getting tired.. off to bed :)
*.htx is the converted texture file.
-
yes I put the .shp file in the texsrc folder
-
Actually you dont even need to "build" it unless you're putting other objects on it, just convert it and put the .shp and either the .htx or the .bmp files in the texsrc folder.
If you gave the tile you built the same name as the converted .ac file then the actual object would have been overwritten creating an invalid file. You prolly need to clear out your shplib folder and convert the .ac file again. I've also found that ground objects look better if you make their elevation .001 instead of 0.

that did it, thanks
