If anyone is familiar with the TV show Top Gear then they may have heard of Sabine Schmitz.  Have a look here (http://www.jwhubbers.nl/ring/joerund/legends.php) for a link to a video taking a BMW M5 around the circuit.

Incidently, at the weekend Top Gear showed Sabine taking a Ford Transit around the circuit!  This was the funniest thing I've ever seen - a van over taking motorbikes and sportscars! :)  She got round in just over 10 minutes 20 seconds (ish!).

Unfortunately I can't find a video of this footage!!

She had previously taken a Jaguar S-Type diesel around the circuit in a little over 9 minutes.

My roommate was telling me that a new course record was set recently. The Carerra-GT was displaced by some new, unknown german car. Anybody got details on that?

Got Lotus 7 writen all over it. Get one of those go kart that go at 250km/h, and I'm sure they will beat the ring best time.

Clarkson takes his diesel Jag round in 9m59s having never driven there before and the Kraut says "I tell you something, I do that time in a van."

And then couldn't.  10m28s.


Now ok, 10m28s round the Nurburgring in a Ford Transit is......er......well ok, it's bleedin' awesome.  But considering she lives there and has done 15,000 laps......

Anyway, arrogant Kraut wench who couldn't step up to the challenge her big fat mouth laid down.

Rode the Ring  once myself. Bloody scary was enough for me. Damp track, busses cars nutters all out there. Biggest problem was that once your commited to the line on a bike its a bit difficult to move out of the way to let MR Ferrari past!

Glad I did it, won't go there again.

Swoop a Triumph Trophy 1991 vintage is not going to outrun a well driven ferrari no matter how good you are!

I probably needed my head examining even to take it out there! Wobble weave from one bend to the next was a hairy experience! One to chalk up on the seen that done it board though :)
