Title: B-26G 456th Squadron
Post by: Sp4de on July 13, 2005, 01:46:58 AM
This thread is posted to show progress with my current B-26 Skin.

All suggestions will help out, so start posting:)

Today I tried to make a panel outline of the windows. It worked decently, there is alot of stretching going on so it will be a challenge but I think it will make the windows stand out a little more. Note: Panel around windows will be altered and the opacity will be change.

I might have to ditch the idea. What do you guys think?

For such a small area the stretching isn't too bad.  That does look nice for the moment.  Some areas you have only 3 pixels to work with, so colors might appear darker than usual when viewed from afar.  Dithering might screw with that area when you reduce to 8bit too.  Keep it up. :)

Ok I gave up on the cockpit-bars Here is two shots of the rivets. I am messing around with opacity on them right now. when its done all the way they will be not so vibrant(same with panel).  What do you guys think?

Can someone give me a suggestion of a black i should use. It says semi-gloss so should i make it almost look like a black metal in shading?

This might sound odd, but I've liked the look of

RGB 20,20,20

It gives just enough room so that a pure black (0,0,0) section IS noticible, but barely, and dark enough it looks black.

Here is a picture of the Completed rivets. I still think i might have to lower the opacity. What do you all think?

Hiya Sp4de, glad I could help =)

On the rivets, I think it might look better if the brightest ones were less bright, and the darkest ones less dark.
In other words, I think the contrast between the rivets is a little too great. I love the idea of variation in them, but the way they fade in and out doesn't look right to me. But that's just my opinion =)

 It would look much better if it didn't go so dark.
