Guppy you posted this a while ago. but the top image is gone of the 2 P51s i was gunna do! do still have the photo. The skin was pretty unique, it had black strips down it.

My first thought was it was part of the French Airforce because it has the invasion stripes in 1945, though by that time most US planes had gotten rid of them, but the US Insignia puzzled me.

3rd Air Commandos, meaning it was flying against the Japanese.
Not sure on the story of the name.
