As with all the recent releases of the last few days, it looks awesome. Congrats on a great job, guys!:aok
-
looks good ! but no k14 gun sight?
-
As I said in your other thread the K-14 would useless in a game like AH. You have range, you have plane ID. You can adjust your seat postion to see over the nose, you can customize your own gunsite so that the pip is higher (which you wouldn't be able to do with a K-14).
HT already models the 'training gunsite'.
That would be about what you would get with a K-14 but it would require you holding the con in your sites for 2 seconds.
Adding an 'aim bot' that takes several seconds to calculate lead would get little use...
fyi: the Jugs do look good...
-
That d40 looks mean, I think I have an alternative to the ole 38.
Great work guys :D
-
um, that is a K14 gunsite.
-
a functional K-14?
That's what he wants so he can dial in plane type and get range, then have it calculate lead...
-
excellent HTC and skinners!
-
ah, no... not functional. sorry.

I don't like the cowl. The front of the cowl should be very rounded. The models shown in the announcements board have very sharp looking cowls. Apparently, the shape of the opening is off too. In the screenies, they come to too much of a point at the bottom. I didn't notice that at first, but after looking at some pictures online, it really jumped out at me. It throws the whole plane off IMO. Do a google search for some images, and compare them to the screenshots.

You have to consider the fact that the game displays a *lot* of aircraft at once. If it was almost totally round, that would be a lot of added polygons and slowdown for almost nothing.

An unfortunate side effect of any massively multiplayer game. You have to model things based on the theory that there could be a metric buttload of them in one spot...

I agree that this is probably the result of keeping the polygons to a reasonable number.
By the way, the splitter between the engine and oil cooler is flush on the AH2 jug, but should be recessed about 10 inches.

Minor details of no importance. Just compare the new AH2 Jugs to Forgotten Battles:

It's my opinion that new AH2 aircraft offer the best graphic representations seen in any flight sim.
My regards,

Nice wingtips on that new jug! Thanks for improving the blocky early version. Nice job on the bubbletop canopy area too. I agree with Widewing in that the new AH2 jug is better than any previous video game jug.
However, I will state that the razorback jug's canopy looks much too thin, much like the P-51B canopy. Also, from the interior shots, the bubbletop canopy appears to have thickness modelled, while the razorback canopy is a flat mesh. Hopefully we aren't seeing a finished product.
I still like the new jugs a lot. Can't wait to see the N.

In the screenies what is the little flap on the front of the US insignia, the striped part? I'm no expert so i was wondering if that is a texture flaw or actual piece that's suppose to be there. Looks great anyhow.
-
That skin showed from il2 is not such a beautiful example.
It all depends on the skinner.

Those would be the intercooler door exits.
