I believe it's finally working. Please let me know what problems develop.
North Africa - Final Moves
Pressed between the veteran British Eighth Army on the
East, and the green but eager U.S. forces on the West,
the Afrika Korps fights the final delaying action.

overs in service at the time of this setup.

Ack is .5, i.e. half of MA normal

This is the kind of input that is helpful to someone like me.
I didn't put in either the 205 or the FW190A5 for two reasons. First, I'm not sure either of them was in the desert (although there were earlier versions of the FW that were). Second, and more important, I thought they would unbalance the scenario, and I would then be asked to add the Spit 5. The end result, it seemed to me, would be a week of Spits v. FWs (and/or 205s).
Having said that, clearly I am not the ultimate source for any of this. I'd appreciate a sense of the crowd (hey, it worked for the Romans, right?). Other suggestions are desired, and will be treated in the same manner.

109f should handle the hurri with little problem if ya fly it right. But the p38g is gonna hurt you....

Yup, P-38 is the monster in this set, P-40 isnt bad either.

OM it depends on the years you are portraying. the 205 is an early 1943 fighter as is the P38G. the P40 is totally correct as would be the 109G2 (which saw service with JG27) The HurriIIs and Spits do belong there as does the 202 and possibly the 205. The 190s did not see african service IIRC.

There were some 190A-4's in N Africa Storch. They arrived in Nov '42 and were flown by III./Z.G. 2, III./S.K.G. 10, and II./J.G. 2. As you know, the 190A-5 is for our purposes identical to the 190A-4.
The P-38G was a late '42 plane, by March of '43 1100 had already been delivered. As with the 190's, the P-38G is virtually identical to the P-38F save for some radio equipment, and P-38F's were already in England in June '42. They flew nonstop from England to Oran on Nov 10, '42 when the French surrendered in operation TORCH.
Sooo....P-38's and 190s both got to N Africa within a week of each other in Nov '42.

To add to what Grits has put out, both SKG 10 and JG2 were in the midst of transitioning to the FW-190A5 or itīs ground attack varient. II/JG2 arrived in theater in mid-November 1942. They left on 22 March 1943 after handing over all the their aircraft and equipment to III/SKG10. They scored 119 victories, 2 probable and 18 damaged. Losses were 8 pilots killed, 3 missing, and 11 wounded.
FW-190A5 was present in increasing numbers until the end of the campaign.
The ground attack units stayed until the end of the campaign, when they withdrew to Italy.
I believe the 71st FG flew P38īs in North Africa.

1st FG, 82nd FG, 14th FG all flew a mix of 38F, and Gs in North Africa, later joined by H models.
First action for the 1st FG (that included the 71st FS along with the 94th FS and 27th FS) was on November 11, 1942.
There is a 14th FG skinned 38G of Col. Obie Taylor included in the AH skins that would be accurate.

Yeah but........why bother with the 109G-2 or the C.205 when you have the 109E-4 and 109F-4? The G model 109 is an overweight pig and the 205 is so darn ugly who'd want to fly the thing?

109G-2 is significantly faster than the F-4 and the C205 is a great plane, one of my favorites in the Axis stable.

again my response is see rule #4 also look at rule #16 and lastly regarding the beautiful MC205 look at fist rule.

There is a 14th FG skinned 38G of Col. Obie Taylor included in the AH skins that would be accurate.
Excellent! It would be nice if someone did a couple of III/SKG 10 skins for the FW190A5. It could sub for the FW190A5/U3 or an FW190A5, as SKG10 flew both types at this time.
So why are the FW190's included again??

Having said what I said about the 109G-2 and 205, as long as the SpitV is absent, I would still prefer the 109F-4.
