Good article in the latest issue of Cycle World on bikes under $1k.

They bought, finagled and borrowed 12 bikes for under(mostly) a grand and took em for a 3 day ride(mostly). Talks about what they fixed up and what they left for later, also another article in the same mag speaks of what to look for in a cheap used bike.

Thought of your earlier quest when I read it.

I dunno, any chance of a google? I was speaking of some articles I've read on dead tree's. I haven't ever been to the cycle worlds page. You have a earl?
