Whos up for the challenge? This was flown by Major Hermann Graf at JGr Ost, January 1943(http://www.nnavirex.com/shotpierre/fw190graf.jpg) (http://hem.passagen.se/galland/graf2GG.gif)

Pilot info is the bottom link. the picture is from another sim i couldnt find the actual plane after a half hour

I don't know if that's historical.
-
I stand corrected. Found some other things that showed a similar paint scheme for that pilot.
It can be done... But I'd need better reference pictures, some close-ups of the cowling and the way the triangles spread out, and details on the zig-zag and the badge after the balkenkreuz (which, in your IL2 skin, is inaccurate, the real plane had a yellow square type badge, it would seem).

If you're thinking of submitting the skin keep in mind our policy on swachtikas (leave it off).

It is historical, but the nose has red and yellow in. Rudder is white i think.

That goes without saying :)

There's a model kit decal set that has the tail spikes over an orange background. Decals are not infallible, however.

It seems that's the A-3 model (note the intakes) and it's painted differently from the other examples I've seen. The A-5 has no orange under the triangles, I believe (*I could be wrong*). That is what I was thinking of when I said there was a square badge aft of the balkenkreuz

Too late to edit my post. Actually that's an A-5. It turns out there was a second phase of his aircraft (which had the high altitude scoops, as that profile) and a slightly updated paint scheme, with orange under the triangles on the cowling. I think I rather prefer the one without orange on the nose, however. I'm undecided, but I like the original picture.

=) i was wondering what was up with those myself then looked it up

im not keen on red and yellow mixed together,, i feel its too gaudie for my taste, it will make me want to shoot it down all the more i guess..

I agree, but if a pilot wants to be noticed in a fight, that IS the color combo that will grab everybody else's attention!
Might as well paint bullseyes on the wings, if ya ask me, but for the pilot with guts and the skills to stay alive in an A-5, it's the perfect skin.
EDIT: Let's take a poll....
Phase 1: No yellow under the cowling tulip
Phase 2: Yellow under the cowling tulip.
VOTE: Phase 1 or Phase 2.
My vote is Phase 1. Thebest? Selector, everybody on the forums? Please add your vote.

i prefer 1 also

I like being noticed so i would go with yes yellow (2)
