My response to 'what kind' is usually "cold".

excellent guess...Potholes just south (moses drains into the potholes) That would be a very small largemouth bass. We don't keep bass, only walleye. Mmmmmm, beer battered walleye. Interesting enough, we caught one of every species in the lake except carp..., Trout, walleye, small mouth bass, large mouth bass, catfish, perch and crappie.

i used to fish the west end of the potholes when i was a little roo ..
(my granparents had a 300 acre hay ranch there) Wonder if my little boat is still hidding there . thats were the blue's hang out . i caught alot of fish outta there while waiting for the hay to grow :aok

Soak some corn off the cob in some sugar, then put a few peices on a hook and let it sit on the bottom, crack for carp.

lol
I took my two boys fishing a couple of weeks ago for the first time. Only problem was that the only hook we had for the line was waaaaaaay too big for fishing from a dock. So...Dad had to improvise and go back to his youth when we used to catch fish for bait without any bait. We'd do this by dangling the line in the water and watch and wait until a fish swam directly over the hook and then "YANK". We'd catch them in the fins, the eyes anywhere but the mouth.
Well, this day I did have bait and I just waited until I felt a nibble...then "YANK"! Worked well actually....but a week later with a small hook it was just too easy. You put the line in and then wait 2 seconds and you'd have a fish.
Most of them were the size of the one in your last pic though Rip.
