Pantone to RGB conversion (http://www.weprintcolor.com/pantone_RGB_convert.htm)
Some VVS skins are getting a bit imaginative and it struck me that if the improper USAAF/RAF/LW skin were to be used folk would soon jump on it......so below is a guide to basic VVS camo.
Nose, tail and fuselage art was often added and some times the camo was "white washed" over winter but this often ran off when wet (yes it was literally white wash that was used {Mk7 distemper}).
Some times numbers were embelished with edging and or the white of a number or star changed to yellow.
Lighter colours ended up getting grubby with oil, dirt and fuel spills etc.
I will give the colours in pantone numbers and you guys can convert to rgb from the link above.
All VVS fighters had the underside of wings and fuselage coloured AMT 7 there is no pure Panetone colour for this CMYK 53/0/16/0 is close.
For fuselage and upper wings

Applying the above to our present ingame VVS skins
Yak9T
3IAK and Niemen (Airmess) would be fairly old mid 1943 production camo with darkened paint showing ageing as it may look early 44.
3IAK (BH3841) is straight off the production line mid 43 camo.
Default is straight off the production line mid 44 camo.
Yak9U
163 IAP (The Best1) Very dirty 44 camo with darkened paint showing ageing as it may look late 44 or 45.
293 IAP (Mongul) this camo is of a Yak9T used during the Caucasus Campaign (possibly by 293 IAP). It should not be a Yak9U skin.
347 IAP (Merlinx) is straight off the production line 44/45 camo.
518 IAP (Airmess) this could be a winter 44/45 camo
Default is straight off the production line mid 44 camo.
La5FN
5 GIAP (Kweassa) mid 44 camo once white washed and now "stylised" as it appeared in early 45.
Default winter 43/44 camo (a little dark)
La7
156 IAP & 9 GIAP (Airmess) winter 44/45 camo stylised as they appeared in early 45
Default is straight off the production line 44/45 camo (a little dark)
GIAP111 (Airmess) This could easily represent a dirty AMT12 camo of Jan 45 as it looked in April/May45
My screen is not perfectly colour matched so it would be silly to get finicky over tones etc. I think working from the panetone to RGB converter above you guys can start from spot on colours for the back ground camo colours. The light/dark brown Yak9U should be a yak9T however.
