Title: weird glitching....ah almost unplayable
Post by: Stratocaster on July 20, 2005, 09:04:37 AM
when Im trying to play ah smoke looks like its cut in half, flak is cut like a pizza and you cant see smoke or hit sprites coming from damaged enemy planes. also if you try to go into clouds this big polygon type white triangles blind the screen, and only when this happens can I see the dots of enemy planes. I cant find a way to completley unintstall even wih add and remove programs, I do have the latest drivers, never had this problem until the new patch or at least till I reinstalled the game

That was incredibly rude gents...

Can you post your dxdiag text for us to view? It would allow us to help you better.

If you have an NVidia card, be sure to use the correct driver.

For all NVidia cards from FX5xxx (inclusive) and older, use the 61.77 drivers.
For all NVidia cards from FX6xxx (inclusive) use the latest driver.

Drivers could be the problem though.  Send in or post your Direct  X diagnostic report and we can see what drivers you have loaded and what hardware you are running to get an idea of what might be causing the problem.

To get one, go to your Start menu, select Run.  Type "dxdiag" in the box, and when the utility starts up, run the tests for video and sound.  Go to the last tab, and select the option to save a report.  Save it somewhere easy to find, like the desktop.  Close the utility, and open the text file "dxdiag.txt".  Copy and paste about the first 1/3 of it either here on the BBS or in an email to Skuzzy at support@hitechcreations.com

9800Pro, make sure you use the 4.12 Catalyst drivers and DO NOT use the Catalyst Control Center.  Use the ATI Control Panel.

Make sure you have set the game to use 512 maximum texture size, not 1024.  Try setting the game to 1280x1024 or 1024x768 resolution.  If your computer has more than 768MB of ram, then check the "Preload textures into memory option", but not the other two.

See the bottom of the "Hints and Tips" post in this forum for information on emailing DXDIAG results to me.
