Hey all,
My Wife works in a university library in town. This is a real issue for them because of the wide variety of "customers" that use the library. Since it is a state funded library they cannot discriminate as to who uses the facilities. It is open to all. It is not reserved for university students and faculty.
The problem is the minors who come into the library when they get out of school. They know the computers have internet capability and they can access any site they want since their mommy and daddy aren't there to watch them. These middle school kiddies punch up the raunchiest sites they can on as many computers as they can before they get caught. Neither the regular customers or staff appreciate it but they cannot keep these youngsters out of the library. They have the right to use a public facility. There is no way to make a separate area strictly for internet usage as the search engine for the library archives uses the internet. The library is trying to find a way to avoid this problem and setting up a net nanny type of program is about the only option they have. That way they can insure only adults get the password. Yep they do have to allow the "adults" to access the XXX and other sites.
Kinda stupid but a good reason that parents need to monitor their kids net access.

Damn kids... can't they go and find porn the old fashioned way? You know... it's buried deep in your fathers closet. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
