Title: Notes on 2.04
Post by: Pyro on July 22, 2005, 11:12:46 AM
I wanted to give some explanations to a few things that are being reported as bugs that are either misunderstood or intentionally done that way on our part.

P-47 fuel gauge-  The right gauge shows the amount of fuel in the selected tank.  The left gauge shows the total amount of internal fuel remaining.

P-47 rockets not displaying the correct number after you fire some-  This is just a workaround to not having enough hard points for some planes that have a lot of different weapon options.  We do plan to expand that system so the workaround will no longer be needed.  For now however, we changed it so that the rockets will display correctly when you first load them, but the displayed ordnance won't decrement as you would expect.

All my P-51 and P-47 skins are gone-  Whenever a plane shape is overhauled, all previous skins are no longer compatible and are removed from service.  New skins will become available for these planes as they are made and submitted.

P-47N uses less fuel in WEP than in Military-  That is the way it is supposed to be for this plane.

Pyro - This may be so, but with the reduction in realism in engine management (i.e. no engine over heats, no cowl flap adjustments, infinitely renewable WEP, always running at MIL power, etc.) shouldn't it be changed? If it's not, I would think that anyone flying the N will do so at WEP as much as possible, getting the benefit of more power while using less fuel...

I wouldn't know what to change it to or what purpose that would really serve.  I would prefer if somebody was using their wep to save fuel rather than saving it to fight me.  And there is a limit to how much WEP you can use.
