OK, seeing as HT or someone read that buffs dive bombed once or twice IRL, it's an every day occurance in AH2.
What is the drop alt? Can a plane at 800 ft AGL drop it's bombs and will they explode? If the plane is at 800 ft AGL and in a dive, will all the bombs AFTER it goes below 800ft AGL explode? ie a B-24 is in dive at 850 ft AGL, starts to drop at 800 and goes as low as 500 ft AGL on pull up. Will the bombs released after they passed 800 ft AGL arm and explode?
I think most of the divebombing done against gvs, is by ppl that sux at fighting in gvs or fighters. Nothing worse than a "disgruntled GVer". I get a little torqued when I see them brag about their kills. That's just my opinion.
Flame away.:D

I don't think there's a set altitude bombs 'arm' at, so much as a set distance they have to travel. I've killed myself in the past several times while dumping ord at very low alt and relatively high speed, and also scored a few kills with ord in the same situation. I think, or am just imagining, that I heard a figure of 1,000 ft to arm, but I cannot say with any real certainty.
[flame]And yes, all you GV dweebs should be obliterated in the most colorful way possible, ideally involving a minimum of 10 tons of ordnance. [/flame] :D

bombs must fly 1000 feet (300 yards)
if you are level, and fast, they arc down, and therotically if you are fast enough you can drop at 100 feet AGL, and they will blow up below you ahead

Mustaineis right.
AH bombs arm by the distance traveled, not alt. Like he said, 1000ft.
According to speed, you can drop a bomb at like 100ft and still have it detonate.

You've got to be kidding. right? 100 ft AGL and a bomb is going to travel 1000 ft ?

Lol, try it SCDR! :)
Dive on to deck with a fighter, stop somewhere like 100~200ft. Drop bombs at that speed.
Bam! Destroyed by your own bomb!

Sir Newton would argue otherwise.
The bombs will be behind you, but still close enough to catch you.

It only falls 100 feet, but it also travels foreward with you for probably 1,000 feet. Total distance bomb traveled is 1,100 feet, so it goes BOOM.

I think we worked out ages ago while discussing delayed action fuses that you could get bombs to explode if dropped level at 75ft and 300mph.
The minimum height goes up as the speed goes down.
