Is there a new high res package for the jugs and ponys or if I reinstall the old one will it make them high res?

What exactly does the high res pack do?  Skins at higher res??

The pack gives you the option to view skin textures at 1024.  Default maximum is 512 without the pack.  

Skins are created and accepted in 1024 format.  I think my skins look like garbage at 512 (or lower! gasp), but thats just me. :)
