Title: startup problem

I just reformatted my computer. After reformatting, I downloaded and installed the newest version and patch. Now, when I try to start up the game I get a blank window on my screen for a few seconds. Then, it crashes back to the desktop.

My video drivers are installed and I have directX9c. Despite this it still crashes. I'd appreciate any advice and help you can give me so that I can get back into the game.

What video card and what drivers are you using?  Did you remember to install all the motherboard drivers?  Did you install the sound card drivers?  

All those are things you should check.
