Hey, for those who are interested in getting in the Ki84 this might help some in giving a rough show of what it is capable of and maybe how it can be used in combat against bad ods.
Let me know if there are any questions.
New film for those who are interestead. Normal AH film format. Told Hajo and Kazaa I would post it. Ki84 film.
Here (http://www.geocities.com/rasmus_friluft/phew.zip)
or
Here (http://www.savefile.com/files/3523775)
Followed last advice and zipped it this time, still about 2.5mb big though.
Fight starts with another knit nearby vs 3x P38's. Killnu, Stang and Lazer.

Absolutely great film. I'd have to give it the edge over the WT and Leviathin films posted here for its great ending and drama. Bet them guys were mad :) I bet they were furious :D I noticed Lazer upped a ki84 to come back for revenge :rofl
Now question: how long can a ki84 leak fuel? It also seem to be able to take a lot of hits.
Thats some great flying. Sure you aint wt? :) you got his little side step move down perfect
-
Absolutely incredible flying Wil!!! You sure stirred up the hornet's nest there! Very nice!!! Thanks for posting.
-
Darn, thought one of these films was the Rope-A-Wilbuz I pulled the other night. :p

BTW and CLip, thank you very much, make me happy :)
BTW, the Ki84 has got several tanks. 5 to be exact. Wings tanks aswell as center fuselage tank.
What I had hit was one of the wing tanks. The fuselage tank rarely gets hit thankfully.
When it got hit I still had 100% fuel in the Fuselage tank which is why I was able to stay up for quite a while longer. Hopefully, in the future of AH, the fuel will stop leaking when the tank runs dry :)
As for taking alot of hits, it is more durable then the other japanese fighters but less durable then most other planes. It's probarly on par with Spits and the like. I took one 20mm hit and maybe 10x50 cal hits there. Could have been alot worse so I was a bit lucky I must say. I also took another 20mm hit and some MG's later on. My best answer to this is that they were spread out and hit the plane in other places then I was already hit. Don't think I could have taken much more.
AKAK, yes... well no... that was more then a week ago now ;)
Was a nice rope though, I haven't been roped for ages and ages and years so still trying to figure out how I could let it happen that time :)

Thanks for the answers, Wilbus. I had a fight with a ki in the CT and was wondering how he leaked fuel for ten minutes. I didn't think of the separate tanks.
The whole time I'm watching, I'm wondering "how is he gonna get out of this one?" Thats mental discipline to stay with the fight. Its a keeper - best film I've seen to date - and that aint schmoozing.

*BLUSH*
Makes me VERY happy to hear that BTW!

One thing I can say after watching that, you definitely have your point of aim down in that bird. There is no hesitation at all. Even the distance shots where you took a chance, most of them landed hits. You take far more shots than I would have, and it pays off. I would have died much sooner, simply because I wouldnt have taken as many shots, wouldnt have produced the kills, and would have been quickly overwhelmed. Pretty much anyone that gets in front of you is either going to die or take hits. Nice flying!

WTG Wilbus :D Great flying ... really enjoyed the film & on top of
all that u r a CRACK shot :) didn't think that KI84 was that maneuverable ... nice kills ...this film IS a keeper :aok
Cheers,
Happy1 :D

The best part was the duel with lazer, even better lazer was coming back in a ki.
I guess that says it all. WTG Wil :)

Thanks :)
My gunnery to what it is today started a couple of years ago when I started flying the 190 A8 (the only 190 in AH at the time) and decided that I was gonna learn high speed high angle snap/deflection/lead shots. Basicly, I flew the 190 in the B&Z kind of way untill I got down low and then I just fought it any way it could flying as aggressive as I possibly could. The normal high speed passes I learned to shoot in was usually above 500mph and I took pretty much whatever shot I could. After a while I started learning what would hit and what would miss and the gunnery improved. Always working on improving my gunnery but if any of you would like a tip it's this.
Take whatever shots you can that you THINK might stand a chance. You'll waste alot of ammo in the beginning but I think it will pay off!

SHOW OFF!
JK! what impressed me is that they weren't newbs you were fighting, you fought good pilots, oh and your gunnery. WTG :aok
-
Thanks MegaDud :)
Hopefully the films works for something else then just show off material. Was hoping it might help some pilots who are interestead in the Ki84. We'll see :)

It's a sad day for Kurt Tank poor soul.
Will he rest in peace now ?
I'll sacrify some white innocent sheep to be sure he won't came back and haunt your dreams Wilbus.
-
I still fly Kurt Tanks masterpiece, it is still the greatest plane ever made :)

You shouldnt make false statements like that. You might confuse some new guy into thinking the FW is a great airplane. I mean, WE know you are joking, but think of the newbs man!
-
Yup, I am talking R/L ;)
I still fly it just because, it's a FW :)
-
I's got yo' Ki-84 rights here Wilbuz!
You gonna die!

My crew chief just handed me the bill for the repairs on my plane. I figure if I start saving now, do a few more lawns on the weekends and ask my parents for a raise in my allowance, I might be able to come up with the funds to get my plane fixed.
*shakes fist at Wilbuz*

ooops. Well, uhmm, tell yer crew chief I appologize ;)
If he accepts it please send the money to me instead, Iäve just spent the past two hours getting utterly and totally ganged in the MA at furball island, need to repair my plane to say the least

LOL LOL, yah, I feel hunted every time I go up in the Ki84 now a days :)
-
hehe...hordes of KI84's all over the place. J/K :p
Wish I could have gotten that d/l'ed. I have had more success in the KI-84 than a person of my limited skills should warrant. It is very good IMO. Any plane that allows me to kill more than I die must be Uber. :)
-
Try the second link I posted, it SHOULD work. If not, give me your e-mail and I'll mail the file to you!
-
you can send it to faughnmaw@yahoo.com
For some reason I kept getting an error on the second link...and nothing from the first.
Appreciate it.
-
buahaha, nice wil.
I love starlite in the chog making all kinds of spraying passes. Priceless.
I might play with this one, add it to the cinematic AH movie collection on my website. If you wouldnt mind that is. I'll try not to hack it on ya. :)
-
Thanks Morph :)
Actually, I'd very much like that, not into making films my self but would be great if you added it and played around with it :)
BlkKnit, it's otw :)
-
Thanks Wilbus!
Had to go back through text to see how many ya got...only 7? seemed like about 30 while I was watching it LOL
-
LOL Yup only 7 :)
Far more on me, would have had more had I had 20mm left, last 8 minutes or so was purely defencive flying with the occasional snapshot. They were started doing hit and run attacks on me instead of stall fighting it seemed like so I never had enough time to get lots of 12.7mm in em.
-
I've only twice come out of a fight alive after being outnumbered. Both times the enemy turned with me low and relatively slow in mostly speed planes. If they ever get one doing hit and run over the furball, I get dead....fast.
Was a lot of fun to watch. I need to follow you around in 84's sometime.
-
Sure thing :)
Let me know when you are online or if you wanna go to TA some day.
-
I'm also having problems with the download...Any chance of sending the film to kruger2*at*gmail.com? Thanks in advance!
-
Film otw Kruger :)
Anyone else who want it just post your mail here and I will send it instead, links seem to be dead so will do it this way till I find a good place to host my files.
