PWNED!
-
Looks more like a Spuds McKensie dog than a pit to me, but then again, its real hard to see it clear through all that interference.
Looks like the best thing for that DA dog would be a quick lethal injection...:(

Wonder what kinda shape the porcupine is in.
Now that Im thinking about it.

OUCH!!@##$ can u imagine that on u??? dang i feel srry for the porcupine loosing all those needles now its defensless against other pits:D

Poor son of a ***** is a poster dog for evolution in action.

I bet that dog made it out ok. It looks really bad but his posture doesnt show that he is in any great debilitating pain.
His head is held up under his own power in first pic and there is slack in the leash.
Second pic looks like they are trying to use the leash to turn him toward camera.
He is also standing pretty good. Granted I wouldnt wan to lay down in that shape.
I would also think they just sedated him and started the long process of pulling out all those needles.
Is there a follow up story anywhere?
-
porcupines are extremely tough animals. a big one probably would have lived.
-
Welcome to last week, Sandy :p
-
Porc quills are barbed. I remember as a kid my grandad having a german shorthair pointer that tangled with a P-pine and got maybe 30 quills imbedded in its snout. I clearly can recall the several hours three grown men spent with large pliers pulling out each quill and how that dog fought and fought and yelped and growled and cried.. Nearly killed the dog and exhausted my grandad, uncle and dad.
Just from looking at that photo I know that my grandfather would have shot the dog immediately upon seeing it just to put it out of its misery.
-
Why not sedate it?

A veterinarian in rural Maine has a city dog brought to him after an encounter with a porcupine.
After an hour of prying, pulling, cutting and stitching, he
returns the dog to its owner, who asks what she owes
"Fifty dollars, Ma'am."
"Why that's simply outrageous!" she yells. "That's what's wrong with you Maine people, you're always trying to over charge summer visitors. Whatever do you do in the winter, when we're not being gypped here?"
"Raise porcupines, Ma'am."
-
Also a good indicator how easy it is to get any of the fighting breeds to let go once they've clamped on.

I wish I had porcupine powers. The ears look wrong for a pitbull though.
-
You'd think he get the POINT after the first hundred or so...
Harrr...

LOL my sisters dobie tried to eat a pine, $450 later it was de-quilled .. tongue, mouth, face, paws, chest, ear and pretty much every 1/4 inch of its face and snout. 2 weeks later was like it never happened. Them things really stay put, barbed i guess.

Looks like the pic was taknen at a vet. handsomehunk dog:D
