Retrace your steps and undo what ya did.
Alternatly, run sys restore.

What is the maximum texture size set to? Are you running with any anti-aliasing (AA) or anisotropic filtering (AF)?
-
AA is set at 2x and filtering to 8x..Texture size 512...AGP set to 4x.
P4 3ghz
1024 ram
Windows XP
ATI 9800 Pro 128 meg
firewall is off.

I reistalled ATI drivers and deleted 300+ films..did both at once so not sure which was the fix(i suspect video drivers)

Grr...after i tought i resolved my problem using a new AV instead of Norton everything went swell...for a while...
Now...tonight , as I tried to connect or to open server myself loading starts...i get to the clipboard to chosse room and its starts loading the pre...text memory...then poof....returns to windown and asks me to sent the error message...
Restarted many times...re booted..nothing.

I see similar issues....
No convergence lines
No path arrows for cvs
No net status at all
CV wake shows up in sky
clouds rotate with cockpit (i.e. clouds are static)
This is with a fresh install on fresh XP Pro install.
I had to turn off hardware vertex processing for game to work at all.

Increase your AGP aperture.

AV programs are going to cause problems. There is nothing we can do to help that situation. Everytime we open a file to load (such as all the skins, and game resources), AV programs today, scan them.
If they see something they think could be a virus, they interrupt the loading process.
AV programs are getting more and more intrusive. At least McAfee and Norton are. Others could be as well.
-
Its a PCIe card (i.e. no AGP aperture)
There is no AV software on my machine.

My message was for Sirloin, I had the same trouble untill I increased my AGP aperture.
