i think the whisper mode should be shut off in the MA....why??? spies!
Yesterday the rooks were planning a HUGE mission then as soon as we took off two 262s and a heavy p38 were right there at the exact sametime and sameplace i dont think it was a couincidence.
We lost 4 bombers, two fighters, and 1 c47 during takeoff.
It got worse.
-
You need Some of my MEDs?:D Risperdal can do wonders for paranoia. I take 5mg a day...lol.
Things like this have been happening ever since I started. Many people have shade accounts. Just think, Real life the same thing happend.
-
yes but this aint real life here this is a game!! in real life did the countries use other countries planes all the time??? like americans flying with 262s and 110s and zeros everyday. no it didnt happen... it puts the fun outta the game and maybe thats why the rooks hate missions?? hmm
-
Spies are good for the game.
Give this boy a kleenex.
-
Rookland seems to attract more of the furballing type, I think this has more to do with Rooks not liking missions. I understand your frustration. Most players I know don't advertise their missions because of spying.
-
You cant stop spying - dweebs will find a way.
Instant messaging, even email - dweebs will find a way to spy.
But believe it or not, few players are so dweeby, and once discovered - oh well, they'll have a very hard road and probably wind up changing their name.
-
u know this how??;)

LOL! That's great! I bet that put a crimp in Who7 vulching C-47s.

LOL wtf is a heavy 38 gonna do to a mission? Well, maybe he could fire 10 rockets as you horde mongers spawned and land 20 kills...
Paranoid noobs, love it.

Same thing could be argued either way about NOE missions with heavy bombers or divebombing heavy bombers.
One one hand its argued that they "sometimes" made NOE missions or 17's and Lancasters were capapble of such manuvers. So it should be allowed in the game.
Same thing with spies only they were used to a far greater extent thei either
On the other hand.
As you say. this is a Game and not real life. And just because something was done or was done a few times or was capapble of something. Doesnt mean it should be in the game.
Personally I would like to see dive bombing heavies and heavies used in NOE missions done away with. Using your very same arguement you make against spies
-
As for spies. While they are probably around I think there are far fewer then people want to make out.
I know I've uncovered alot of NOE missions simply by paying attention to the map. Usually someone does somethign stupid like go above dar for a breif moment. or the planner takes the mission close to a friendly facility and causes it to flash like the one I spotted last night.
A dar bar that suddenly appears the dissapears in a sector with no base is a sure giveaway. As is a flashing facility with no darbar
Or someone going NOE themselves spotting this blob of black dots hugging the ground or water.
All it takes is one person paying attention to the map and getting suspcious enough to uncover an NOE mission.
Occasionally OE missions are pulled off to great effect. But more times then not NOE missions work because alot of times even when spotted and reported few if any people bother to respond untill after the base is actually under attack
-
true drediock but it was 50 miles away from the closest base and it while we were taking off the runway the 38 dropped bombs on the bombers and shot down the 47 the 2 262s showed up maybe 15 seconds later and caused alot of anger because we all knew it had to be a spy
-
ummm with all due respect. didnt you look at the map before you upped to make sure the area was clear? Or wasnt ANYONE paying attention to the map?
that many planes had to have some kind of radar signature long before they reached your base. Unless they too came in NOE. Even then your base shoulda been flashing
-
Noobs. lol.

What is the mission poster going to do if he sees the field flashing after he spent 20 minutes collecting people to join? Post another mission only to have that too reported and same lamers pop up over the field?
I witnessed it twice yesterday, as soon as mission spawn time comes the empty sky gets filled with red cons. Last mission I saw was intercepted by 10+ high enemies. Very easy to spoil a whole mission with a fast plane - just zoom down on the heavy planes and they are forced to dump ords or die heavy. Or die anyway since they get vulched climbing.
If I recall correctly, abusing two accounts in AH is against the rules.
Sure its fun to _accidentally_ happen to land in the middle of a mission on climb. I still remember the time when I zoomed through the whole conga line with a pony scoring 7 kills in one single pass. But to have a second account only to get locations of cv's and missions.. That's just incredibly lame and HTC would do these people a favor if they'd be kicked out because they really need to get a life outside the virtual arena.
-
Lan, what all these guys want to tell you:
Spies? Yes. Bad thing.
Anything you can do about it? No.
Always have been there, always will be. Start living with it and dont take the game too serious. Youll enjoy it much more that way.
-
chutes are spies.
spies must be shot.
ergo, shoot chutes.

Every user with double accounts on other sides should be shot virtually for potential treason, every day, affecting thier k/d scores.

There are SPIES in this game !!!! ... oh the horror !!!
Shoot all them bastages ... shoot 'em all I say !!!
QUAH !!!!
-
i r teh l337 speye!!! yay go me!
-
while i agree that spies intercepting missions is kinda lame, it does help counter the lameness of the current state of the MA.
-
There's also a role of Murphy in this. While its unfortunate you got a rectal rearrangement by, quite possibly the best wack'm machines in the business. There is the simple fact that random chance can't be left out - and it was simply **** luck that you and a flight of heavies were upping.
Sorry, no sympathy - no excuses.

Lol yeah.. a sector that hadn't seen any action for the past half hour sports two 262's running in simultaneously with a high p38. Note that no friendly activity was there either so the 262's would have had absolutely nothing to do there unless they planned to do some deacking with them.
Believe it was an accident if you wish wolfala.. A couple hours later the same repeated, but THAT could have been a coincidence since it was a combat area.
-
Wolfala is a spy. Jaxxo's a spy, Slapshot's a spy, megadud is a n00b, and Stang is a spy. zOmfG!1!!! ur all spyez!!one!!!
Die Traidorz!
Seriously, lighten up, francis. It may be a bit lame, but expect to get wiped out occasionally. Missions are commonly run to undefended targets now because they are typically wiped out otherwise. Relax, have fun, don't sweat the virtual war too much.
-
Well, the simple fact is 90 % of us have been on both sides of the fence. Unless your either myopic or incredibly lucky - but in either case, I sign off with chance and bad timing. And 4 B24 flights shouldn't have trouble dealing with 2 hair dryers with fragile engines attached unless ur asleep at the wheel or can't aim to save yr life. I'm excellent at buff plinking with rockets midair off a 38, but don't think for a minute that the sheer amount of lead comming off those buff's doesn't give me cause for worry. And if I were in a hair dryer i'd think about calling the rest of the country in on your flight and staying effective as a fighter director then risking the 50cal plink.

Watcha gonna do?
Players using two accounts, two computers and two connections to gain an edge in a game (somebody needs a life really bad). I suppose HTC can somehow catch some of these, but what of when there is more than one player in a family, a person is using two credit cards, or friends are sharing accounts? It's impossible to prevent, but at least HTC makes money off them.
There are also players switching sides and communicating with their squaddies via private channel, VOX, instant message, phone or carrier pigeon. Would it be better to not allow switching countries? Ain't gonna happen.
So what are you going to do about it? I suspect nadda, and it is just a game after all, unless you want to be as annal about it as the spies. But you can reduce the problem by not advertising the mission origin or destination on country channel.

Hmmmm....
I'll bet the way you misspelled "chirps" contains the real meat of the secret message. Our Bish counter-intelligence units would work on this, but (as everybody knows) there is NO intelligence among the nits and rooks, so they have no jurisdiction.
:D

There is no reason to disable the private chat. I like using private chat (whisperign whatever you want to call it) to talk to people that I had a great fight with. In the past when I had faught PK1 we had a long chat just talking about the fight and the past fights we have had. Yea private chat has its drawbacks but its a great way to talk to people where no one else can stick their 2 senses into.

Just a quick question, with all of those people up around your big raid, why did so many get killed off?
2 262s and a P38? I wouldn't get mad at the spies, I'd get to training the fighter escorts and gunners :D

WWWHHHHAAAAA!!!!! SOME BULLY SPY STOPPED ME AND MY HORD FROM MILK RUNNING!!!! WHHAAAAAA!!!!!
Seriously, your whining sounds a lot of bagram's whining last night how his squad of 13 guys was stopped from milk running a base defended by one guy.
And speaking of 2nd accounts...you should ask Lan784's C.O., Who7 that. After all, he does like to vulch one.

The only thing that got killed were the defenseless c47's and bombers. That combined to many jabos being forced to dump ords and chase the attackers made the whole mission worthless. The losses themselves were nothing to gripe about. We were all dumbfounded of the sheer gush of lameness of the attack. When we realised what happened, it killed the spirit totally - at least for me.
Just like facing hackers in a fps game, facing cheating in MA kills the fun.
And btw ack-ack the mission was not a milkrun. Milkruns are a bish trademark, they do nothing better than that.
I'm not the one whining, you are. Just look at the childishness of your post.

Heh ack-ack as I said it was not milkrunning. The target of the attack was active while the area of takeoff was not.
Maybe even you will understand that now.
IMO milkrunners should just remain offline and shoot drones. Makes no difference to fight ack in MA.
-
1st...
"missions" are lame to begin with and probably are the biggest reason the MA sucks anyway.
2nd...
As stated above, you can see em in dar....
3rd....
Scramble a couple tempests on cap early "duh"....even a 262 isnt gonna ignore a high tempest and swoop the heavies more than once...
Your getting wrapped around the axel about something really trivial. Next time run a dual launch with a CAP....if the area is clear they can auger and grab a mission bird...or continue as escort.

Hey, if spying causes a big furball, im all for it. Its almost impossible to find an even fight these days. Either its a huge horde of my own guys or a huge horde of enemy. Ill take anything that can help direct 2 forces towards each other.

No offense. It sounds to me like you only want to hide in the numbers of a furball? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that but I don't think spying is going to do much along those lines.
I don't know how many of you have tuned the noob channel but if it's on they automatically become unknowing spies as their continuous chatter tells everyone in the AH world what they plan on doing. Like bringing goons to a field or buffing it, etc. Question. How many of you go and stop them? Does it really matter?
BTW, the reason some and I mean some, NOE missions get through is a direct result of a limitation of the game. If you happen to be at 30k overhead Anchorage you can see Denali over 300 miles away. Ok , its a big target but 300 miles? Max dot range is what? 6K, 7K? 3-4 miles?
In the airline industry we use terms like A2/3 which means the ceiling is above 2000 feet and visibility is 3 miles. There means the arrival area is clear. Some airports have higher minimum requirements like A5/5 due to approach restrictions. So think about being at 8-10k and being able to see, from 10 miles, some NOE group. If 4 planes were spread out over 3-5 miles or so they could cover a very large area of movement. Now think about the current visibility of one plane being 4 miles max. He can cover an area 8 miles wide by 4 miles deep. Put a couple of planes trying to get some alt away from the enemy and how many NOE missions do you think are going to get through? It only takes one plane to see the group.
IMHO an NOE run has a less than 50/50 chance of getting thru undetected without having to use spies. That it, unless you're rear area field, off in some remote part of the map that no one is flying near.

I remember hearing/seeing that its 12 miles ... I could be wrong, but I have spotted goons on the ground (black dot) from a long way away when between 5-10K alt.
Like u said ... NOE is a 50/50 chance ... thats what makes them so much fun ... when you actually arrive on target without be noticed ... it's a hoot.
-
We get our NOE missions through about 60-70% of the time. Usually, a few will up as we "pop up" to get high enough to deliver ordnance and show on radar.
Never used spies. I suppose you could use them to verify an NOE route was clear, or to deliver false reports as to whether an NOE mission existed, or where it actually was.
Not announcing missions won't help avoid spies, unless you also avoid making and posting a mission. Anyone who is spying will surely look at the mission tab and see what missions are posted.
I find spying in the GAME to be in poor taste and to show a lack of sportsmanship. Sure, there were spies in real war. But this ain't real war, and the game makes spying a lot easier than it was, with no real penalty.
