Title: Miss Mary Lou
Post by: Raptor on July 27, 2005, 10:05:20 PM
"Miss Mary Lou" of the 19th FS, 318th FG

I can't find any pictures of the other side and not sure if it says "Miss Mary Lou" on both sides or not.

Thats as close as I can get in-game and still see the whole plane.
I forgot to change the wheels though, it still has the checkered wheel from the original.

Images of the other side of Miss Mary Lou.

Note the insignia size on the undersides of the wing.  Might be that yours is a tad too big on the upper wing.  Kinda looks like the "C" is a little big too.

And as long as we're talking about it :)

I'd work the topsides to more of an Olive Drab then the green you have it at now.

It appears by the image that the spinner is painted something besides silver too.

And it does appear that the engine cowling was all natural metal without the OD anti-glare panal.

Hope the images help.

In this picture you can see that there is the OD anti-glare panel, but it is higher than what I currently have mine at.

I think what the profile maker took for the anti glare is actually the reflection of the prop on the natural metal.  If it's an anti glare then it's really just a vary narrow strip.  The profile maker has his too low as well if in fact there is one.

But if you look at the top image of the two I posted and follow the inner edge of the cowl, there seems to be no sign of that anti-glare, only a slight change where the prop blade reflects.

There are other photos of 318th FG birds and some clearly have the anti-glare and some don't.

Compare the one below with the top image of Miss Mary Lou.  There is clearly a line on this one, while the other looks not so clear yet the images were taken from the same angle essentially at more then likely by the same camera at the same time.

It appears in the same place in all of those photos and I think it is too dark to be a reflection of the prop.

Looks good :)  Safe bet either way with the anti-glare I'd think.  Looks right with it on
