I was working on the pool last Sat.
Had to lift the filter out, and it rises up to about my navel, and I attempted to lift it, and could not lift it with ease as I usally am able to do with my legs..
Well, during this past week I've been having lower back pain along with temporary numbness/deadness in my right leg.
Now, I've only had my leg go numb twice..
So, my diagnosis, and WebMD's diagnosis is that a disk has slipped and is applying pressure to the sciratic nerve..
I'll be going to see the doctor on the 4th for my pinkie, so hopefully I will get it checked out by then..
Other then that, It's uncomfortable to sit, walk, and It feels best to walk with a stick/cane, found that out playing with my G.Shep and holding a cane like stick to get the ball out from underneath the truck.
I'm now one of you guys, Old man...

Your avatar made my back feel better, but thats probally because of all the blood rushing from my brain to my lower regions, bring pain stimuli along with it..

In meantime, can sometimes help the "pinch" by milking the disk closer to its normal position. Try extension of the low back by, for example, laying on stomach and gently lifting torso while keeping pelvis against floor. Slight angling to one side or other in that postition may relieve even better. Can do same thing standing up by leaning backwards from the waist and holding position.
If muscle spasm has kicked in, try standing in doorframe, holding L frame in R hand and R frame in L, and doing a rotational stretch. Repeat in opposite direction.
First line treatment is gunna be stretching, careful activity, and physical therapy. Dont think about surgery unless nothing else works, or unless getting significant neurological complications -- like bladder, bowel, or...other....function problems.

ROTFLMAO! I'm thankful to know first hand that isn't the case for a female. 3/9/05 I had two discs removed/ fused / braced (L4-S1) and it's ALL good. I hate when things stop working. LoL

Bah, all you need is a nude 18 year old girl to walk on your back. Your back and your donut will feel better afterward.
