it'll be interesting to see how it plays out now that the'll be tying the valuation of their currancy into a pool instead of solely to the almighty dollar.

Ah, the great danger of the internet (and the CIA?). It's a typo. The first number should be a 1 - China is just below Italy in GDP ranking.
-
No, China really does have a GDP of $6-7 trillion. According to every source I can find.
-
No. It's because the internet 'sources' you are using have propogated the error in the CIA 'Fact' Book.
Chinas GDP is about 7th in the world. Chinas GDP per capita is about 110th in the world. Different organizations use different calculation methods, but Chinas GDP is not $6-7 trillion. It is about $1.7 trillion.
The original post here even added the 'information' that Chinas GDP was $2-3 trillion 3 years ago. Where that information came from is a true mystery...
I wouldn't be surprised to see some naive, cub reporter see this info posted around the internet and propogate it even more.

they're all jsut quoting each other's statistics.
which has nothing to do with the fact that walmart has purchased the rights to the PLA invasion of taiwan and singapore.

The World Bank ranks China 7th at $1,650 bn, just behind Italy. They should pass Italy this year, France will take a few years more, then Britain, Germany in about a decade (at current growth rates), it will take a lot longer to catch Japan, which currently has the second largest gdp, $4,600 bn. (almost 300% difference at less than 10% differential growth rate a year)
