I was thinking of volonteering for them. I met a Major from the CAP but he was a "D^%$".
Maybe one of you guys may tell me if they had previous experience with them? What being there is like? How many time is necessary per month?
thx (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

If you want to build up flying hours for "free" the CAP is the best option.

Start flying skydivers. Lotta free hours (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif).
Lots of landings and stuff too (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif).

I'm already a flight instructor and I build up hours fast. (except multi, I don't have any multi students).
If I go to the CAP, I will be promoted to captain because I CFI. I'm wondering if CAP was working with cadets for 90% and 10% SAR missions. I sure will be happy to help as CFI duty but I'm not really joining for that, I'm already a CFI 6 days a week.

and CFI I'm paid around $15-$20/h. Hours sucks, first flights at 6:30am up till night (when night flights required), but I don't care.
Like I said, I was in the French Air Force before coming to US, and I miss the "help others/save life" aspect (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Well, you can help me/save my life by finding me a $15-$20 an hour job (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
