Title: Anyone seen the meteorite about 11:25 pm central saturday night?
Post by: Meatwad on July 30, 2005, 11:38:03 PM
On my way home, seen it in the north sky from my point in southern IL about 40 degrees above the horizon.  It was a dull white color, lasted at least 5 seconds (maybe longer, I just caught the last 5 seconds of it.) Headed downward to earth at what appeared to be a 25 degree angle. Dont know how big it was, but still it was pretty neat to see.

Funny part was I kept watching it get closer and closer to earth before it burned up, thinking "Holy crap its gonna strike." :rofl

Watched the shuttle reentry over Texas one crystal clear night. It was the most awesome thing I've ever seen. I thought an airliner was on fire. Flames streaked 3/4 of the way across the sky.
