Im looking thru internet now as we speak..any info woudl be great ..thnk u

Thinkin from Father to Son or Mother to Daughter is all that applies but could be wrong.
Might be able to go Grandfather/Grandmother to Grandchild.
Don't think cousin applies?
Perhaps it has to be in the will????

I don't think there are any exceptions.. all transfers have to go through a FFL dealer.
I don't know what you mean by "pre ban". Sometime in the eighties or so they did pass a law that all new guns or transfers had to be regestered.. If he has guns from a few decades back then they are not regestered probably. Who would know who owned em?
Guns bought and sold between individuals didn't need to have the sale regestered back then sooo...
otherwise there will be fees and waiting periods on every single gun.. 15 days and 30-60 bucks.

I would add... given that finestein is still alive and george soros and the UN exist...
It never hurts to have some of your guns belonging to dead people.

Just one more reason I'll never live in Kaliforniacationonium.
I'd just tell 'em that "He loved his guns so much we put them all in the casket with him. Yep, they're 6 feet under."

You can not transfer assault rifles in Cali. When they passed the law back in 2000 or 2001 banning them, the law stated, you had to register it as an assault weapon, then you could never sell it in state again, and when you die it gets destroyed.
Unless the law changed any "assault weapons" have to be turned into the police.
It may even be a felony to keep them.
Find out before you do anything.
This was the reason I sold the AR-15 I had, before the law went into effect.

Short answer no:
Pursuant to California Penal Code section 12285(b), any person who obtains title to a registered assault weapon by bequest or intestate succession (inherits) shall, within 90 days, render the weapon permanently inoperable, sell the weapon to a licensed gun dealer who has a permit from the Department of Justice to purchase assault weapons, obtain a permit from the Department of Justice to possess assault weapons, or remove the weapon from this state.
-
yeah... I didn't realize that you were talking about a carbine that falls under the Kalifornia "assault weapon" ban.
yeah... who says the democrats aren't out to get your guns.

And I'll just bet that the "permit to possess assault weapons" is unobtainable, in every case.
That's absolute tyranny.

had a good conversation with a good democrat union UPS driver yesterday... They can't ship guns anymore.. He somehow mentioned "assault weapons" and how it was a good thing Kalifornia had the sese to ban them.
I asked him if he knew what they were and he gave me a disgusted look like "everyone knows what they are, do you think I am stupid?"
He had no clue as to what they were... he felt that they were high powered machine guns that were more powerful than any other weapon save the dreaded 50 bmg that terrorists were using to bring down planes every day with.
I told him he should wear long pants because the chill must be getting to his brain.

Looks like you have a great excuse to move.

No, that's the "democracy" that is "the People's Republic of Kalifornia".
And you're right, I'm sure the DoJ leftovers from the Klinton era have an agreement with Boxer and Fienstien to refuse to issue a permit to own "assault weapons" to a Kalifornia resident.
You know, I've owned several non full auto "assault weapons" (I got rid of them after the novelty wore off), I've never seen or been asked for a permit to possess them from the DoJ.
-
Note: when they discuss DoJ they are talking about the CA DoJ. Sorry for any confusion. And you assume correctly, the CA DoJ no longer hands out permits for assualt weapons.
Ergo, there are no new assualt weapons in CA, and only law abiding lisence holders own assualt weapons in CA, and an assualt weapon will never, ever be used in a crime again in CA. Thank cod for our legislature, and the 9th circuit or we would have had bedlam in the streets.
Up next, and you heard it hear first, assualt pistols.
-
out last governer, Gray dip**** full on said the 2cnd amendment did not apply to californians.
That was the number one reason I was glad to se that jerkoff get recalled.

You truly do live in fantasy land.

Perhaps you missed the sarcasam tags...

captn... I am pretty much consigned to the fact that I will move when I retire. I allready wish I were living in Texas instead of Kalifornia.
It get's worse here every day... what with fienstein and boixer and some other minority women all thinking that they are everyones mommy..

please do. You should consider getting some of the reloading equipment yourself and the 44 and a few of the other handguns..
Hell... wish I could go with you and show you around some of the handguns and reloading stuff...
Sounds like your cousin knew his stuff tho and you would be better off getting a big gun safe and buying everything that wasn't banned..
When you reload it is easy to end up with a few thousand rounds of everytrhing and 10 or 20 thousand rounds of brass over the years.

Real shame about those "Assault Rifles". You know, you could flip out and take out Feinstein and all them.
No jury in the world could convict you.
-
I hate this state sometimes.
I would love to own all those rifles.
I have wanted a FAL for years, but not in this ****ed up state. ****ing liberal gun hating *******s.

I think you need to talk with the heirs and see if they want to sell some of this stuff out of state.
Sounds like there are some really valuable/desirable guns in the collection.
I might be interested in some of those. Talk to the heirs, make up a list; you might be suprised how well it all works out.
