auto take off is enabled, but will not stay on. the setting is "checked" on. auto take off shows in cockpit for about 2 seconds then goes off. also, rudder is stuck hard left. how do i correct these two situations?

When you fix your rudder the auto takeoff will work fine. You should calibrate your stick in windows and in game then make sure your not pulling rudder anymore. The auto takeoff is cancelling because it's seeing stick input, as soon as you move stick it will disengage the auto takeoff.

Once in the game, click Setup, Preferences and then View Options. Uncheck "Start in Mouse Look". Exit the game and re-start it.

I'm curious, however, as to how auto takeoff can lift certain planes off the ground MUCH easier and in 1/3 the distance it takes for them to normally take off (with a pilot at the controls). Taking off in a heavy bomber means you're skimming the ground for miles and miles just trying to get some speed and alt up, but with auto takeoff it lifts you up while you're still over the runway. Taking off in a Ju87 with a 1x1600kg bomb is VERY hard to do. You need the entire runway and more. But auto takeoff gets you airborn about 2/3 the way down the runway.
I'm curious why this is

Krusty, I just took a Ju87 w 1600 bomb and 100% fuel and auto takeoff did get me up around 1/2 way down the runway. However I also tried manual and was able to get wheels up around the same point as autotakeoff, slightly further. No flaps were used in either example.
Edit- And 'Clara' says I need to 'fication' this, by wheels up I mean wheels off the ground not raising the gear, of course.
