I didn't realize they were that cheap. THAT"S AWSOME. I'm getting one of those. I have so many movies (non-porno for me) that I slave to convert to Mpeg2 and demultiplex the audio and convert that and then create the DVD and then burn it.
Divx DVD player eliminates all of that and I can put the entire season of BSG or Farscape on one DVD.
COOL!

Well the catch is Gunny is that with most Divx certified players, you need to downsample the file to "Home Theater" mode, which basically drops the resolution to the 780x something, i forget exactly what or why it is that way. Maybe someone else knows? But with my player, which is pretty much ubiqutious, thats the way they do it.
The player seems pretty solid. Its got a GUI for navigating the individual mpeg 4 files - i'm pretty sure it can play WMV files in addition to AVI, wmv just being the wrapper of course. I've had BSG converting for the last 5 hours. Got 7 eps done, working on the other 6. Not including the feature film, it tops at 4.44 gigs - so we'll see if it can fit on 1 finalized dvd. Pray... Kinda wish I had a monster machine to chew on it - but 1 desktops been doing porn, the other BSG. Oh well. But yea, the price is extremely reasonable and its got enough outputs including an optical.
Oh BTW, i'm hooking up with Hondo on the 13th for a truck show a lil north of Fresno if u got nothin to do. I'd cover the booze if he supplied the boobies. Leeme know if ur around.

It's probably 720 x 480 wich is standard DVD resolution. R U using DR. Divx Pro to convert them. It's a pretty good program.
Win-AVI converter works well too. Thanks for the invite on the fresno thing, my daughters Birthday is that weekend so its a negative for me.

Wasn't usin the Doc Divx but the latest drag N drop conversion tool supplied with Divx 6.0 which was released recently. One thing I notice when viewing is the audio and video are sometimes mismatched. Anyone else notice?

if that happens you have to demultiplex the audio from the video and then readjust the audio delay. WHen watching on a PC there are several players that you can adjust the audio delay on.
