Spring has sprung!
Time to get together, eat lunch and if the Wx is fine...time to launch the Fairchild.
I'll give the brave souls amongst you a trip or two around the pattern each.
If we're going to drink beer, it'll be fly first, lunch second. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
Please check in if you can make this Saturday, March 31st, about 10:30 AM in Garnder at the Muni Airport.
Ice says it's time for BBQ somewhere.
So, who's in?

Argh!!!! a little more notice and I might have been able to make it from St Louis,.... <mutter>

I will be there. What time do we meet? rcurtin@kc.rr.com

Check this thread for changes due to WX.
However, if it's reasonable, I'm at Hangar 74, Gardner Muni, West edge of town on 54.
I'll be there around 10:00 rolling her out.
Two passes round the pattern takes about 20 min, including backseater changeout. Plan accordingly. Might oughta have a sign up list for rides, to keep things orderly. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
No drinking till >after< yer ride. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
After a bit of that, lunch and beer. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Man I'm pondering a road trip!
Don't know though....I'm about 1hr 20min S of Bane...means long haul (Takes me 4 1/2 hrs to get to Whiteman AFB! ouch)
If nothing else, maybe some of us midwest boys can meet up at the Whiteman Air Show this year?

Going to be there. I have a commitment with MAG-33 for the snapshot on Saturday at 1400, so I’ll cut out to make that. Otherwise I will be there. Understand from the weather last night, we’re expecting rain all damn day on Saturday. Of course, wait a few minutes right, it’ll change (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif).
I think I’ve ate BBQ there a few years back, should be interesting to see if I can find it. I’ll cross check with the wife, part of her families from Osawatamie. Home of the murderous and thieving hero John Brown, lol.

Will try to get a good read on the WX Friday afternoon and post a plan. Please recheck; not much point in flying open cockpit in the rain. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
There are probably a dozen guys flying AH within an easy drive (hour or less) of the KC area. Last time we met up I think we had about 6 active fliers and a few wanna-bees. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
Will post tomorrow about 4PM.
Look forward to seeing you guys.

OK, have checked 3 wx sources.
Two of those say showers in the AM with temps in the mid-40's. One says a few clouds, temps in the mid-50's.
I'm working every other weekend in April, so I'm still going to go down there around 10 AM. If it's decent, I'm flying. I will tell you that temps in the 40's require a shirt, sweatshirt and a jacket in an open cockpit airplane (IMO).
If it rains, we can just go visit the CAF hangar and see what they're up to over at New Century. They're rebuilding their PT engine right now. After that, we'll grab lunch.
Hope to see those of you that can make it.
-
Sorry, I was wrong again. Not going to be able to make it. Too many things going on. Hope your doing this again, it would be cool to meet some of you all.

Sounds great even if we can't fly. I have only met a few of the online pilots over the years.
-
Great little party we had today Toad, thanks for hosting it ;-). I'm sure my buddy had as good a time as I did. Maybe we should have flightsim conventions like it more often.
Anyway you have a beautiful plane and it was great to meet you.

If you want to fly this plane try the above link :-)
Not the exact model but close.

Great to meet you and Joe as well!
That's a dead-end E-mail; I've had a few people that don't like my politics try a few little E-Mail capers, so I pulled it off.
I'll e-mail you the real one. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

It was good to see everyone on Sat.
