Well, Sandman, next time you go over Goler or somewhere else, ditch xterra club, pickup Gunslinger, call me, and I'll get you guys to someplace nice.
While in my beloved desert, city folk is more alien to me than salamanderly pear to salad, but I should be nice to all guests.
It is more likely we'll reach common ground around campfire after drink or two then here on the message board.
Cyas in the desert.
PS
Gunslinger, the rain which doesn't reach the ground is called Virga here...
Where you live anyway?

Dunno, maybe cause when it reaches ground, it can be very potent?

qutie possibly. My jeep isn't it trail condition yet and we got rid of the explorer. Let me know.
2bighorn,
I keep seeing weather footage around victorville of rain walls of steam. The ground is so hot the rain doesnt collect. We've had clounds and sprinkles the last 2 days wich sucks. All it does it add humidity to the air in wich case our swamp cooler becomes "ineffective"
:aok

In your area you need both, swamp cooler and AC, otherwise, in the time of summer thunderstorms, it can be hell. Are you commuting to Edwards?

Has Inyokern been spoiled yet?
Been LOTs of years.
A layover, a Saturday night in a small bar.
A group of wranglers with a string of wild burros down from the desert mountains. Plenty of ice cold ones and lots of good conversation.
I loved the place then.
I was just wondering if it has been overtaken by the population.

Inyokern has changed very little in the 15 years I've lived here.

nope live here. The housing area I reside in was built in the late 50's and swamp coolers is what we get. It helps to have fans in every room but days like this at 3:30 in the afternoon it can really be a bear. It's only like this for about 2 sometimes 3 months out of the year. I just wish it would rain for my lawns sake. I heard thunder for the first time in 2 years yesturday. Ironic....in texas it stormed all the time. Here it never storms yet I get sonic booms all day.

Very cool. I liked the smallness and the people were really great.
