I'm flying in on Friday and have stuff booked from the 14-18th. Outside that if anyone wants a beer bought I'd be happy to oblige. :)
I'm doing the solo travel / no plans thing and have currently nothing to do between the 19th and 27th.
Any sugestions/solicitations welcomed.
Cheers

Vancouver has the absolute best strip clubs I've ever been in in my life. Not a dog in the joints, leather overstuffed chairs, everything clean and shiny! Exlent plexiglass showers on stage!
Of course this was 85 or 86, but I hear they're offering work visa's for strippers these days and a picture IS required.
When I was there for the last two weeks of the worlds fair with the USS Ranger it was a beautiful clean well kept city.
Enjoy!

I moved from Vancouver only last year, and as far as I know Wardog is the only other AHer from there.
Eight days there solo with no plans is a bit too much, seems to me. But so is everywhere. Let me know how old you are and what kind of stuff you're into etc. and I'll try to give you some ideas.

I saw the Ranger landing at expo 86!

I am in Victoria, A ferry ride from Vancouver, If you are heading over that way Ill be glad to share some pints with ya.

I'd agree, 8 days anywhere is more than enough! I don't plan on spending 3 or 4 days tops in Vancouver the city.
Victoria is highly likely I'll visit at least, thanks for the offer. Can I email you through your profile or should I just let you know through here?
I'm 26 and wan't to do a bit of the tourist thing but I get bored looking at buildings and whats in them all day.
The first few days I'm kayaking up in the Discovery Islands, I'm doing that because I couldn't find anywhere that would teach me beginners hang gliding.

Hell, you might as well travel 4 hours south and check out Seattle as well. If you do, you have a place to stay for a night or two.:)

If you don't mind sleeping on the carpet...

Many thanks for the offer Rip. 4 hours is driving or the flight time? I think the total have to spend in the air is already 26 hours and I'd like to limit to that if I can!

just answered my own question by checking the Air Canada website, pocket change for the flight and only 50 minutes or so in the air... may well be worth a couple of nights. Having nothing to do is rapidly turning into not having a free hour :D
Ripper, I'm sure Rips garage is probably a nicer place to sleep than some of the hotels I have stayed in... really.

Email Sent Gatso.
Rip lives a few hours drive south of Vancouver in Seattle Washington. Also a great city to visit and Rip is a good guy to meet. If you dont have a car there is a cool jet catameran ferry from Victoria to Seattle that would be cool to take.
Hope to hear from you.

Whelp... based on that... I'm not gonna be the best giver of advice on Vancouver things to do for you.
But.... Victoria has something like a 3/1 chicks/guys ratio (seems like) so I would definitely take Pongo up on his offer.

Nash, girls are all good, especially in 3:1 ratios. So is beer. So is loud music! Kayaking / rowing is just something I enjoy and a good excuse to fly all that distance.
