I've had many times that I had to bail out over or near an enemy field or CV with the ack blazing at my chute!
How gamey is that? Im sure nobody with comon sense would shoot at pilots who just escaped from their crashing plane.
Can this even be modelled? Im not sure, but it would improve the game.

Well during the BoB there is more that one account of Czechs and Poles strafing German pilots in their chutes.
I'm sure someone will have links on hand.

Simple solution ... RIDE IT IN !!!

it is as gamy as droppin troops over a CV to occupy the ACK so suicide jabo's can bomb it (actually have seen this done once)

Simpler solution, as soon as your chute opens /.ef. The player who shot you down still gets the kill and your back in the tower ready to up a new plane. Why would you hang out in your chute waiting for someone to shoot you?

What's the point of bailing? Does it keep the other guy from getting a kill or save you from a death in your points? I shoot every chute I see. I never get a kill for it but at least it saves the guy from floating around wasting time :)

LOLOL - doing him a favor.

No it doesn't, but what's the point for riding a plane to the ground from 5-6k? It's a waste of time. It doesn't award the guy who shot you down anything more.
You miss the point, you don't have to float around wasting time. Just /.ef and your back in the tower. It makes no difference except it records it as a bail instead of a death. Personally I could care less about that.

I can't believe xMarine hasn't responded yet. He'd be the guy to ask, being something of a resident expert regarding hitting the silk. :aok

Naw, it's fun to ride it all the way in during a furball. On several occasions I've had my stabs shot off and start my elegant float to the ground only to have some other guy come in and steal the 1st guys kill. Then the guy who gets his kill stolin asked me who it was, has a few choice words for him and the fun starts:D

That would not work because if you bail over an enemy field you would be able to kill atleast 1 ack with that colt .45
Riding it out is always fun, seeing if you can manage to regain control of your plane (even if you are missing an entire wing) Usually hopeless but always fun. In multi-engined aircraft if you lose your vertical stabalizer(s) I found a way to keep the plane under control using the engines, of course if you try turning you're screwed and you're an easy target but serves ya right for gettingshot :p

I helps you in your ranking I beleive Bails are worth more then deaths and Ditches are worth more then bails. And crashing is worth less then any of em.
Least thats my understanding
-
And now that a pilot can bail and use a 45 pistol, ummmm I'm gunna kill you in your chute! so dont be mad at the ack ,, it knows what its doing :)
-
i saw a guy in a chute vulchin at the end of the field. he actually got a kill by shooting the pilot.

I remember bailing out at 15k in AW and couldn't get back to the tower...
Yeah I went up and got some coffee and enjoyed the 5 color view.
