Frankly put I am tired of working, I was wondering if any of our Scandinvian posters could let me know about immigration options for N. Americans.
I hear you guys have good looking women , and social system that would make unemployment a real option.
Anything I could do to make my application better?

You might need to pick up a silly hat or two.
-
Horns on metal hats are not silly... in fact, they're pretty badass.
-
I was thinking the gay sailer hat Nilson had on in that one pick.

All you need is a clean police record, and a job that waits for you. You may need a few weeks in quarantene at the ariport kennel too.
Unemployment could be an option after you have worked for a few years and have been granted citizenship. You wont get enough to enjoy anything but enough for food and a place to live

Are there any openings for people who speak "Southern Drawl" as teachers in the Norwegian or Swedish school systems? And what are your american football sports teams like? Do they have regular practices and like to beat up on the soccer players?
Also do you allow mobile homes with blocks under them and 5 old cars in the front lawn with three of them on blocks and the other two just sitting there with no body at all?
What about home made liquor....you know good old fashioned moonshine? Is it allowed in Norway or Sweden?

Cant speak for them dull sweedes but..
Many english schools here for forign kids with english as main language..
Only a few football teams, but yes.. they do like to beat up soccer dorks.
The mobile homes you mentioned are allowed some places but not recomended if you want to blend in or survive the winter.
Moonshine has been made here since pre-viking times so there are plenty around if you want that stuff.
Welcome to norway.

Those same apply to Finland too. Not much "football" (more ice hockey, soccer etc), plenty of moonshine. English speaking people seem to get jobs as teachers.
The unemployment benefit here in Finland is around 400 euros per month minus taxes, leaving around 300 euros (~ $380), so you'd be better off working.
I don't know about the immigration options.. And the Finnish women aren't as famous as Swedish blondes (but we've got some nice ones here as well!). Maybe Sweden or Norway might fit the traditional Scandinavian image better. ;)

Finland is not Scandinavia
I have seen some stunning Finnish wimmin so dont try to keep them all to yourself Panzzer.... we are not falling for that.

Do you have to like that lutefish stuff to become a citizen?
They prolly have some secret clause that says you have to cover your whole body in it and run around naked.
-
Yup... we tell that to all foreigners and they fall for it.

You also get part of the rent (complex calculation around 50-60%) too so the total benefit is somwhat more.
Even then I wouldnt suggest unemployment. Once you get old and sick you are fudged if you dont have other retirement benefits except the goverment pension.
Swedish women are the best.

Grow a beard, preach hate towards everything western, praise terror bombings and try to convert people into radical islamists and the British government will welcome you with open arms, give you a house, give you free healthcare AND give you £15,000 (around $25 - 30k) if you have no job.
We are finally seeing that this is not a good idea and are starting to put a stop to it, so you better come over quick.
-
If you want to make som (not much but fair amount) of money you could come here (Finland) and establish a firm using that american skill of yours. We have so many unemployed people here with good education but who are unable to make their own business. Creating a firm here is discouraged, its a like a skill we lack, part of the culture.
Finnish workers are skilled, educated and honest but they need leadership. Our work culture is pyramidic. We need the "boss".
In sweden its kind of opposite. There a meeting wont end until everyone agrees and even the lowest worker can walk into the bosses office like its his own living room.
