I LOVE fileplanet... worth every cent of the 7 dollars I give 'em every month. :D
-
Demo sucks. The box game would have to be better I'm assuming.
-
What sucks about it?
-
I like it.Lot better than what I expected.
Works much like DoD,but better graphics, and the buldings are lot better too. There are some 4-5 story buildings You can explore.
MP44 all the way :D
-
So I tried it out at lunch... mixed feelings I guess.
The buildings, etc. are all very nice - graphics are on the whole very nice, but it seemed that I couldn't get a very good frame rate, and that there were some lag issues, even on servers that had a ping under 100ms.
The free-for-all I could do without, but it was kind of fun in the teamplay mode...
At times the player models looked absolutely terrible.
I think it would translate pretty well into single player, but the multiplayer needs some work before it will be up to DoD standards... I DO like that unlike DoD you can't run 30mph. I wish there was a 'prone' setting though. More 'action game' than I prefer, I guess...
-
I downloaded it and have to say that it BLOWS!
It starts to load like Return to Castle Wolfenstein and the buildings look about the same but other than that it's crap.
If the box version isn't any better then they are doomed.
As it is right now RTCW is far better!
-
i am quaker and enjoy the crap outa rtcw....
dwnloading moh demo now
-
<yawn> aint too good is it.......
-
Installed and played it for about 10 minutes. Promptly deleted and defragged HD to end that games misery. I seriously doubt I will head back for it.

I don't like the DoD fact that MP43/44 / StG44 is classified as machinegun like BAR.
It is more comparable to M1/M2 Carbine.
As Machinegun, Zb.26 (Inspiration for brits Bren - captured Zb.26's were used by germans) or MG34/42 with drum would fit better.
I got to test sometime how much difference theres between StG44 and BAR - performance wise.. should be quite alot.
I wonder where from they got the idea for Winchester M1897 trenchgun (its the model of shotgun in game)

Yikes! What could you possibly get from Fileplanet that would warrant subscribin? ;) Maybe I don't want to know... :)
Anyway. It was OK. I like RTCW better. Both have pros and cons. I hate the map they started with. Common spawn points are zeroed by snipers who have it much easier in MOA than RTCW. No 'breathing' effect. The FFA maps sucked. I liked the team play much better. But once again the map is not very good for much more than a few players. Rogue Spears city map (forget the actual name) was much much large and better for 16-32 polayers by far.
For a mindless shoot em up I'll keep it for a while. RTCW and MOA_AA are two games I can play one handed (I let newborn sleep on one arm when I'm on the PC often) and don't require much complicated thought or communications with other players. :)

O'westy,
The Ruined City :p
UO's Warehouse District was also good one in RS series.

Demos, demos, demos! Sunday, sunday, sunday! No waiting in line... ahh... bliss. Actually, my DSL provider will only allow me to be on in two hour chunks, after which I have to reconnect, so if I sit in line for some of these files, and get the crappy server they use for free downloads, I get disconnected before I'm done. Because of the 'line' getright doesn't work, so this is just a much smaller hassle, and since I download lots of files, it is worth it to me. Now they just need Pornplanet.

Oh, and about the demo... I ran an 'offline' server of my own, and cranked up all the details, and set the resolution to 1280x1024, and the game looked great, sounded great, and played really smoothly. I think the single player game, of which we've seen so much footage, will probably be really good, and hopefully after the feedback from this multiplayer demo, the multiplayer will have some serious work done on it between now and the release. The first multiplayer test for RTCW had a lot of the same issues that this does, but they fixed them. I played the new single player demo for RTCW, and have to say that the single player aspect of the game, with all the hocus-pocus, sci-fi zombies and cyborgs holds little to no interest for me and as a result, isn't worth the $55 pricetag. I sincerely hope that some adjustments are made the the MOH:AA multiplayer which make that aspect worthwhile. Keep in mind that they originally were making a single player game, and then added a multiplayer aspect after pressure from the fanbase... so I suspect they are probably working on that stuff still.

What I'd really like to see is a realistic groundwar simulation with multiplayer action..
MOH has the potential for that, unless it becomes quake like the demo-ffa servers are.
The action on the film looked awesome, I wonder if anything like that can be organized online.
Why do all games have to be ruined by fantasy roadkill?
-
So 15 year olds kids will get mommy to buy them the game... which is also why MOH has no blood...

I am hoping that Hidden & Dangerous 2 will be the answer to your question. HD1 was awseome to play when it worked, the game was so immersive for me that I dealt with the lockups and bugs. Hopefully HD2 will be more squad tactic online.
