They captured him and he faced execution in the US.
All I can say is "WTF"!
Guyz (Brits) thanks for the support. We are blood relatives but if this is the official position then kindly step aside.

The answer, of course, would be to attack Britain for "harboring terrorists"
:)

where did you read this?

well, apparently Britain signed a treaty with other european countries that stipulated no extradition of indicted persons would be made to countries that had execution as a punishment.
I respect this but I would urge any of these countries who signed the treaty to, as I said in my post "step aside" if BinLaden is located, this one belongs to us.

Give him life then let the inmates kill him.

LOL... If he's found it'll be as Easymo described.. a red smear on a cave wall.
regardless of British civil court nonsense, the British SAS has no such silly doubts about the upshot of finding the miserable toejam. If they find him first they will simply drill holes in him..
"I say, terrible mistake; but wot with all those silly wogs dashing all about wailing like dervishes whirling those beastly little knives, it seemed prudent to put the sorry show to a ruddy stop, enh, wot?"
The Brits will do us right!

Since the european countries have no death penaly, these countries will no hand over a criminal to a country if this criminal will face the death penalty.

In Russia we have death penalty, but, according to an agreement with European Community all executions are "postponed" forever.
I wonder if they will execute Salman Raduyev when he will be found guilty.
-
The British have given their word, and that makes an end to the matter.
I'm sure they will understand, that as an American, I would prefer that our people find him first. This, in the unlikely event that he is still in one piece when found.
-
I read something today that Tony Blair said yesterday if they catch him in afgan they'll give him to us, because he hasn't reached british soil he doens't get their rights...
WTFG BLAIR!
and thanks :)

Hm, guys, you gotta respect that European countries have a different view on the death penalty than does the US, and if something falls in under our jurisdiction, we're entitled to handle it so it follows our basic principles.
So, respecfully disagree is what I think is proper here. One gets what ones gives.
As a sidenote, there's no doubt in my mind what'll happen if the SAS get hold of Bin Laden. He'll either be very dead in a very short amount of time, or he'll be carried off to the Americans. Carried because it's hard to walk when your knee caps have been shot off during an escape attempt :).

Would you accept the case that the US refuses to extradite your criminal because you don't have a death penalty? Or because we don't like your traffic laws?
The extradition of the criminals should never be used as a tool to exert political pressures. I cuts both ways, you know.
BTW, let them keep those creeps. They'll have to feed them and become a subject of terrorist attacks demanding the release of the prisoners.

There is a solution to the quandry, if in fact the Brits do come accross him.
Think a scene in the open desert. Quiet and lonely. A lone turbaned and bearded fellow looking like bin ladin approaches. A few voices start up... Heavy cockney accent.
Dyou see oinything? Nah OI don't see oinyhting. I jest sees that blooody big crater over there, oh and boiy da way hold this bloody holy handgrenade, that's a good chap...... <BOOM> Musta counted to four.
Did you 'ear anything? No OI didn't 'ear nutin!

that is the worst British accent I've ever heard.

Maverick should be ashamed. :D
I hate cheeky cockeneys. And Millwall FC fans. Soft Southern Bastards.
While the American Special Forces survive on pretzels and Big Macs, the SAS makes do on toothpaste and a damned good thrashing twice a day. My money is on the SAS to find him first, followed by a quick hand over to US forces. ;)
-
If the SAS get him then the only thing being handed over will be a dead body.
SAS don't take prisoners :)
-
Mietla, yes I would.
On a sidenote, the Europeans are not going to extradite if something that isn't acceptable happens to the dudes that is extradited when he is abroad.
In your example, something acceptable to your country (i.e imprisonment) happens. The two examples are therefore far from the same.
In the end, it's the country who holds the detainee who decides. Btw, this policy of not extraditing to the US unless there's a guarantee that there won't be a death penalty waiting for him is not new - it's been in place for many years.
