Just curious if the limitation of the La-7s was changed from the original description. I was just looking on the Inommi kill stat page and it says La-7s flew 77 sorties, more than any other A/C.
Is this a mistake or did the VVS up wya more La-7s than they should have?

It might have been changed for the last frame since the Axis got 262's. I thought it was a good mix, more of a challenge. I got 3 of 'em, including one 68Falcon. He must not have been looking. :aok

Have to figure out what sorties mean over on Innomi page. My squad had 8 LA7 escorts for 8 IL2s. Our IL2s used their second life in LA7s and 2 out of our 8 escort survived.
Now if sorties mean exactly that .. every time refuel and take off my escorts refueld twice. So 8 sorties plus another 4 for the surviving escorts .. 12 sorties. Then 8 IL2s upping as 8 LA7s who refueled once .. so 16. So my squad had 28 sorties in LA7s (16 LA7s actually flown for the whole frame -> 28 sorties.
I know not all the IL2 squads upped in LA7s .. we figured if you had escorts from your own squad in LA7s then you could use your second life in LA7s. If you did not then you had to use life in LA5 or Yak.

Checked admin logs and sorties are not how many times rearmed and flew but actually spawned. So 77 LA7s spawned and flew last night. Not sure how many were originals and how many were IL2 second lifers.
Also 16 ME262s flew last night.

Not looking, I used every evasive manuver I could think of and few that just sort of happened. When I finally joined the big fighter hanger in the sky my hands had cramps from gripping the controls so tightly.
Was a great fight:aok

FATE only uped 15 ME262s a few did reup do to disco!
Don't know how or where you see 16??

Again this goes back to the point i made on an earlier thread. I'm sure, well almost positive, that all second life IL2s upped in La7s. While the original number of La7s may have been around 40, the extra 30+ IL2 second lifers probably upped La7s as well. If the write thought that 70+ La7s offset 16 Me262s, then medication needs to be perscribed. I know this sounds like another Luftwhine, but I also wnat these ideas and comments to go on to upcoming events. In the intrest of fair play, I also think TOO many G10s were upped. Would like to have seen more moderate plane numbers duking it out. La5 vs. G6 is a sweet battle.
I might be too bold in saying this, but I hope the CM tdeam doesn't allow these events to become mini-MAs. I like to see more of the mid-level planes actaully have to work to make their mission, not simply up the most uber plane and go on a tear.

First off I am not implying a rules or number violation by saying 16. Was just suprised at how many 262s were up last night in play. I knew there were going to be a lot but didn't pay attention to the exact amount.
They were well used .. toward 2nd half of frame they kept buzzing us at V18 to keep our alt down. We figured they were doing that so that a higher JABO force could come in unopposed at alt. Very successful tactic on their part .. .
Also was a blast trying to fight them I believe overall 3 262s were killed. I know Filth and I ran one down .. he got frisky and blew his E trying to tag somebody and we dove hard on him (never had a LA7 shaking before) and put several rounds into him. Then he clipped a tree and slammed the ground. I know Fdutchmn got another and I think one of the AKs got a third.
Very intense fighting.
Now as for numbers .. yep 16 launched last night .. but you are absolutely right .. tc3x launched twice do to a disco. So actually just 15.
Also went back and checked the allied objectives from Stream and he pulled off the restrictions on the LA7.

There were no restrictions on LA-7s per frame 3 orders. 2nd lifes for the Il2s, 30 were allowed to reup in any plane. The Allied CiC only upped 30 IL2s to begin with, he could have done more, but only 30 of those would have gotten second lives.
Drone, What were the numbers at launch?

That was exactly the tactic we were instructed to use. It looked like it was working from our cockpits, I'm happy to hear that it looked the same from the other side of the fence :D
Thanks to the Axis frame commander for coming up with that application of the 262, it was well conceived and we had a blast flying them.

Setup CM ( sniff ) was not counted.

Interesting looking at the logs regarding AKGrog. Just happened to look at their logs since I shot down a couple...I notice 3 take offs in IL2s raised little suspicion since doodoo happens early in the frame but........Then I notice he took off in an LA7 and got shot down, only to up in an LA7 again and shoot down an ME262 before getting shot down again. Not OK in my book. Especially to shoot down an ME262. FOUL!
EDIT: just looked at logs more closely....FLAGRANT!
Went down in combat 1st in IL2, reupped another IL2, then upped LA7 twice after that.

I'm looking into it.

I think that event shows that the La7 as an MA low level plane is great, but to escort at high alt, for a long distance, against multiple higher enemies in an event its really no better than many mid-range planes.

Luckily I turned my film viewer on just as we started our fight. I gambled and dumped all my E at one point, missed the shot, and I still overshot. I thought you had me at that point. You must have had escaping on your mind since you extended away, but some of my squaddies were in your way. I would not have gotten that last shot had they not turned you around for me. Fun fight .

I agree, although the La-7's we ran into, including your group Filth, did suprisingly well at altitude, it was still really no match, and just a matter of time. I felt about as safe in this frame as I do in late war Pacific scenario's flying US planes. At 15K+ in almost all the Axis planes, your above the separation level where the Russians compete only with great difficulty.
Of course, JB42 observed correctly, both the La-7 and the version of the 109G-10 we have are way more rare than we have represented them here. Unless the restrictions are measured carefully, the CIC's will always use the best planes available. This one I think was just one of the few scenario's where the cookie jar was left open on purpose. I had a great time in every frame. :aok

Is there a place to get the final score tally for the Frame - sorry if this is a dumb question, im still new to FSO.

The logs are posted here http://www.webtreatz.com/tod/logdisp.asp?eventid=23905715&description='Red Sky over
Fianl scores for event are being tallied

The CMs will post final, official results any day now. Keep a lookout for a thread titled "Results Frame 3 "Red Sky Over Germany" or something like that.

Thanks gents, appreciate it.
